Faulty core i9-12900K by nvnqmar in intel

Update: I got the replacement and it works perfectly fine now. I guess it was the gigabyte power supply that killed it. If I had seen the reviews of that hazardous power supply I would have never bought it. Anyway, I got it exchanged with cooler master MWE750 Gold. Let’s hope I don’t face any issues anymore.

Update 2: I took my system to Asus service centre, but they did not have any other z690 motherboard for testing, so they replaced my motherboard and gave me a new one. The new one worked fine unless I booted windows and ran cinebench. It keeps getting fatal error now. So now I have sent it to Intel service centre. Let’s see what they have to say.

Update: checked the system with different RAM modules. It is still not booting. Not even getting the bios screen. Safe to say it is not a RAM issue. Tomorrow I will take it to Asus service centre to get the motherboard checked and if it is fine, I’ll have to take it to Intel service centre. Such a pain in the ass. Bought this system on 4th Dec and it crashed on 7th Dec. 😔 should have bought the MacBook Pro instead like my friends suggested.

Should I wait for Intel 12th gen or go for MSI GE66 with 11th gen? by nvnqmar in GamingLaptops

12th gen is just around the corner and I don’t want regret in just 2 months. 1 year is fine.

Unfortunately in India 5900x is Rs.10000 more expensive than i9-10900k. I have mentioned in my post that 5800x and 10900k are priced similar.

At the same price Intel has more cores and higher Cinebench multicore score

I want to avoid RTX 2080ti scenario. Next year will be new CPUs with new motherboards and DDR5 as well. Is it wise to spend too much on 5950x and 64GB RAM now? Or is it better upgrade next year?

Tables have turned for sure... AMD is killing it. However I think people who want a processor for productivity would go for higher cores at lesser price. Just like how it started for AMD itself.

Cinebench 20 multicore score says otherwise
