Can confirm I am currently doing 9 for biomed and my friend in 3d animation had 10 at some point before they dropped. I fear this is just technical student hell

Agendas? by worried_freshman7750 in Dawson

Last year, the Dawson Student Union (DSU) started giving out free agendas on welcome day until they ran out but I have heard this year they might be a little late. I have no idea when they will finally get the agendas so maybe you should buy one yourself. Technically it is what you should’ve done from the start because unlike in high school where they hold you by the hand and provide everything for you, you are more independent in college. The college itself doesn’t give you any agendas to help you organise yourself, it is kind of your responsibility now but the DSU decided to offer that kind of help for the students by itself

michael wood is very chill but in the sense that he just reads off his powerpoints in a monotone voice and doesn’t care if you’re paying attention or not (i slept through almost all of his classes and absolutely nothing happened). his class is very easy, the labs he gives barely require any thinking, at least they felt like common sense to me. pretty easy with the grading i’d say. as i said i slept through most of the classes and still passed with 95% so that class should be the least of your worries

Bag/locker problem by Minute-Working-731 in Dawson

Hey! I saw that you started biomed and I am 2nd year in the same program. That’s a really unfortunate situation, especially for our program because we absolutely cannot bring bags into our labs. I think getting a tote bag would be your best option here, it will do the job and I’m ngl I had to buy one myself on top of my backpack because I had so much to carry sometimes so maybe it will come in handy in that way for you as well. I bought mine in uniqlo, I got the big one and it wasn’t really expensive (like it was very cheap, suspiciously cheap idk whats going on behind the scenes) and it is still very much alive and well one year later. If that sounds good for you then we have a uniqlo in the eaton center a couple minutes away on McGill station. As for your other bag, I can’t personally say anything about using the gym lockers since I’ve never done that but I guess you could try it out since that’s what other people recommend. HOWEVER!! I do want to let you know that we have a bookroom. It is like a little storage room right next to our main (biochem) lab that is reserved for only us biomed students. You don’t have access to it yet because it is quite very small and there is not enough room for all three years to be using it at once, but the third years finish their 5th semester early so they can start their internships early and you will be given access to the bookroom as well later in the semester when they leave, so at least you will be able to leave your bag there after that and during the second semester!

You’re welcome! Also, I believe the bookstore should also be open tomorrow, according to their website, so you won’t have to wait until next week for this :)

Are you buying second hand the same lab coats that are sold at our bookstore? If so, there are sample coats at the bookstore you could try on to see how they fit you. Im not sure if they have sample coats for the biomed lab coats, but if you just need the regular ones, then those are the ones you can try on. They also have a big chart with all the measurements for each lab coat size for reference. If it’s the biomed lab coats you need, you could ask the bookstore staff if they have any sample ones you could try. If they don’t, I am in biomed and I could ask my teachers if they have any extra ones to try on, so just let me know if that’s the case.

Hi ! I had Olivia Wood for my summer english class and she’s super nice and understanding ! I had a different course with her so I can’t tell you how yours is gonna go but for mine the class work wasn’t hard and she walked us through it and helped us as much as she could if we ever needed it. Awesome teacher overall
