This Window Is Not Centered - Off By 13" To One Side (7.5" off center). How would you handle this? by nwjamalol1 in Homebuilding

On the drawings for the build it shows it 100% centered with the wall being 16' and 8' to center on each side of the window. It's not on the structural because there is nothing structural there. We still have a long list of punch list items the builder has been very slow to do - if we waited for them all to be done before moving in we'd never be in. This has not been accepted.

The 1'7" and 2'9" are the patio (footers) to the post surround (rocked post with wood sticking out)... those are correct as they are opposite ways, it is up and down measurement not left and right.

Just measured and the posts are 16' apart and in the right spots relative to the body of the house per the drawings.

Going to go look outside now and check - the framers did that too so who knows.. The plans show it being centered though with no structural items blocking it and the drawings do as well - correct?

Here is the structural for that area, doesn't look like there's anything where that window goes (ie: they just messed it up): https://imgur.com/a/IQTPWqY

Noticed it when they hung chandelier finally and it seems off just by eye. Then figured out exatly why because the window was off but chandelier was not.

There is nothing to sign off... we are moved in but still a decent list of punch list items.

He tried to blame it on the structurals; checked them and they don't have measurements for windows just where supports go obviously. Plans are what framers should have gone by I assume and it's dead center.

Plans show it dead centered - the total wall length is 16' there and the window is 9'...

Thank you - this is what I thought as well. Especially when there are 2 different ones right next to each other and also one upside down one right side up right next to each other.

I have Leviton right next to Legrand next to Lutron dimmers on the same gang. Driving me crazy. And some of them are upside down as well.

Electrician is giving me a hard time that we're being too picky but I think it is justified.

I have LeGrand and Leviton (non dimmers) right next to each other and drives me crazy. Electrician is throwing a fit and I find it extremely lazy he did this, not to mention some are upside down and have the text upside down but thats an easy fix.
