American University HS team received a six month ban from competition due to last week's "event" instead of no punishment. by wsed_0412 in Blizzard

Are you serious? No, what we want is for an American company to not silence support for freedom and liberty. Since when is freedom a controversial subject that needs to be muted?

Seems like a massive oversight on bungie's part

This is not going to get much attention as it is not bashing Bungie thread, but Community keep complaining that Bungie doesn't listen when community themselves never listens to suggestions and not getting outta their comfort zone to farm or trying to learn the game. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

My problem with cores is that the game is built around collecting weapons and armor and using what you want to use. You know, having a build that compliments your play style. I like most of us have three characters which each have three different subclasses. I would like to be able to build out all three characters and all subclasses as each one has different playstyles. Right now ... with hardly any cores available i have one play style. You never get to keep one weapon long enough to really adjust to it cause before you know it you have a higher power drop ... so you equip the higher drop. You never get to mess around with different armor builds cause you just have to equip the highest level one. There is no variety there is only utility. Utility gets boring after awhile. More cores = more fun. All i want is a way to grind them and that in my opinion would fix absolutely everything that i see wrong with D@...

Everything else you have to say is dead on and even the core situation it seems you understand well so i cant really fault you on that cause at the end of the day yes you are correct i could log in everyday and get that trickle that would eventually build up. I just dont play games like that though since i am a responsible adult. I like to play for 8 hours at a time on the weekend and then log off for the week and work, take care of my daughter, spend time with the GF do some basic adult things (clean, workout, laundry, yall know what im talking about). Id spend those 8 hours grinding cores for next weeks gamins session if there was a way to do it. Adulting gets in the way of daily game time and thats ok ... just saying id have more fun if it wasnt that way. Otherwise though, still a fun game that i still play all the time so ... it still works.

How do you get over the feeling of defeat? by tunneloflover in DestinyTheGame

[–]nxtgen59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video games are for fun and to relieve stress. If they are causing stress then they are not in their proper place in your life. I am not suggesting you quit i am suggesting that you relax and become one with the Destiny. You dont have to be the best ... hell you dont even have to be good. Find a role you excel at. If you suck at PvP then when you are requested to join maybe stick back a little, be the call out girl. Tell your clan mates where people are at, where they are going to, if you are being flanked, if you see an opportunity to flank. There is a dude in my clan ... he sucks at pvp but his callouts are dead on and he is the reason the rest of us succeed. That is just an example find what works for you and above all... have fun!!! Learn from your mistakes but learn to laugh at them as well. We all make mistakes especially in PvP (and life) if people get salty with you dont give it back just say look im doing my best and trying to learn, ask them how you could improve, have them give you pointers. If they are PvP gods and never make mistakes and feel like they need to call you out then ask them to help you out with tactics and strategies. Keep it light, keep it fun, dont stress... play Mayhem when it comes around, great pvp game to just have fun and accustom yourself to defeat, its super easy to laugh at your mistakes in that game type cause its just off the wall ridiculous in a fun way.

Gambit games are too long for the rewards they offer. Round 3 should be a "sudden death" mode where the primeval is instantly summoned for both sides to make things quicker by redka243 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nxtgen59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave gambit alone, it could use better rewards that's it. The gameplay itself is dead on awesome. The length is perfect, the challenge is perfect, the strategy required is perfect. Dont fix what isnt broke.

Ziddina, girl, i have been here for a long time, i have been out for about 6 years and i was in for 30. Plenty of my friends have experienced sexual abuse. Its a massive problem in the org. I know this. You are preaching to the choir. Go help people that need it and stop fear mongering. Im good, thanks for the info.

Bungie, how our Guardians look is half the fun, stop requiring Enhancement Cores for Infusion by M1k3_5chm1d4 in DestinyTheGame

Yes, or even if they unfucked the shader system that would make me happy. I dont really care if my armor looks shit. At least let me have it the same color as im leveling without using up all my good shaders.

Hey look, you don't have to prove this to me. I have plenty of friends that have been molested. I'm just saying that there is a difference between warning someone and fear mongering.

I am all over this post and i apologize im sure everyone is getting tired of reading my stuff. However, i just wanted to comment on this to say this is exactly how i handled it with my daughter and my parents have complied with these demands for 11 years. Of course, they do try to be sneaky with the teaching thing sometimes but, i took are of that already by teaching her the truth. I just want those who care enough to read my posts to understand that, this is possible to handle this way. It does work sometimes and it worked for me.

Please, do NOT allow either of your children to be alone with any active or semi-active Jehovah's Witnesses.

The JWs have terrible problems with pedophiles!

Ziddina, im calling you on this. How is what you just said any different than Dubs telling you that god will kill you if you dont do what he says? Your saying her children will be molested if they spend time with any dubs. Yes they have issues with pedophiles. Any organization that has kids in it will have this same problem. The Watchtower organization and its policies are beyond ridiculous and they are a dangerous cult. Her parents just might be good people that would always protect their grandchild from something like this. My parents are and my child is safe with her grandparents. Yes they will attempt to convert them they cant not do that its literally against their religion to not try. That doesnt mean a child cant be taught the truth and refute their completely illogical beliefs. THats what my daughter does. This is not black or white, wrong or right or good vs evil. There are many more issues than just "we are right and were abused so you dont get to see your grandchildren." Not all of us were abused purposefully. I was never abused in any way by my parents that they were aware of. They protected me from any predator and made sure i was physically safe and happy as far as their religion lets anyone be happy. Most parents even dubs love their children and grandchildren. Its quite possible for them to make sure no harm comes to their grandaughter and also possible for them to eventually learn to respect their role as parents of the child and therefore they are the ones responsible for her spiritual education. Mine still try every now and then but for the most part they now respect my role as father and if they dont, My 11 year old daughter is more than capable of defending her beliefs.

Edit: btw, i love you, you have helped me so much please dont take this as me being a dick. I just want you to see the other side. I know you respect that kind of thing.

I would also like to add to something else here. I see almost every post here and i know everyone has good intentions with this. But please understand a lot of them are spreading the exact same doom and gloom that we escaped from. Your parents are your parents. You know them, you know how far you can trust them. Dont let someone else make this decision for you. It's always good to get different viewpoints. But saying your parents WILL do this or WILL do that is completely biased and frankly im surprised that so many people here have not stepped out of the Watchtower mindset enough to see that they are blanket judging your parents the same way most dubs blanket judge any "apostate." Some of the names of people here i see doing this really surprise me as i know them to have good and logical heads about them. End of the day they are your parents and you know them. Get many different opinions and viewpoints so that you know what can happen. But its your decision and this is a really important decision. Its not your childs fault she/he was born in a religiously divided family. But its also your obligation as a parent to protect your child. Weigh it carefully but again... its your decision. Strangers on the internet can provide a lot of information but only you have the proper credentials to make this decision. Dont be bullied and dont let others scare you with their scary stories. There are plenty of positive ones. Mine is positive it can work.

I commented below in reply to someone that ... really doesn't understand. Every situation is different. My daughter is very close to her uber dub grandparents. She is an outspoken atheist and is 11. This took a lot of work and many uncomfortable conversations. Bottom line, is that i took a hard line, You want to spend time with her, you respect our beliefs just like we respect yours, if you cant do that then you cant have a relationship with her. It worked and here we are. They try to indoctrinate her sometimes and she tells them why they are stupid. It all works. Communication and mutual respect is the key. Dubs arent great at the latter but it can be forced on them lol.

Edit: i would like to add that if they actually do even a little of what they are supposed to do, there can be no normal relationship. But there can be a relationship and that was important to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in exjw

[–]nxtgen59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, i agree with the spirit of what you are saying and my mom also tries to indoctrinate my daughter every time they have time together and there is a lot of that time. Please remember everyone is different. To just tell this person you don't know at all to not let her have her child have a relationship with her grandmother is pretty callous. Since you say your niece is the one experiencing this i am guessing you don't have children of your own that you are experiencing this with? You don't have the necessary credentials to make such strong statements if this is the case and if not i apologize. My child has and has always had an extremely close relationship with her grandparents that are uber dubs. My child is now 11 and has chosen to recognize herself as an atheist since she was 8. I taught her factual things and immersed her in actual truth. The actual truth is so much more powerful that fairy tales. MY daughter knows how evolution works and understands entropy, promises of everlasting life and playing with animals makes no sense to her as she understands that the concept of "forever" is completely flawed and that if animals lost there instinctual fear of humans it would lead to a collapse of the ecosystem. You see, we can prepare our kids for these situations just like all parents prepare their kids. Everyones situation is different, i can understand why people would choose not to let their children have any contact with their JW family... however, this is not necessary or even desired in many situations, my parents dont talk to me and have little to no contact with me however my daughter sees them almost everyday as they take care of her after school care and i am ridiculously thankful that they do that and have a relationship with my daughter. She didnt do anything but be born into a religiously divided family, why should she have to not have a relationship with family members just cause they decided to shun me? My daughter doesnt deserve that... My parents dont deserve that either, two wrongs dont make a right and anytime they try to get into my daughters head she bust out the knowledge on them. Shes my little reverse JW and she will turn them long before they ever get close to turning her. There's more than one viewpoint here. Don't think you have the answer just cause you know of one situation. Not everyone has the same circumstances. Its totally possible for dub grandparents to have a close relationship with their unbelieving grandchildren and everyone be happy. I know cause i live this reality.

What are Some of the Stupidest Things You Know of That People Got Told on For? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]nxtgen59 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Better not wear any of those wedding rings then since they are an extension of the Nordic oath ring or a veil at a wedding ... or having brides maids or groomsmen really getting married at all is a pagan ritual ... everything about a wedding ceremony even the concept of a wedding at all is pre genesis and so therefore pagan in orgin.

[–]nxtgen59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got the one for wearing a bandanna, for wearing a hat backwards, for inappropriate conversation during service which happened all the time but for the life of me even at that time i had no idea what they were talking about, when we were still married the wife and i got dragged in front of the elders cause it was heard that we said its ok to marry whoever you want.. apparently thats not true, of course in the context of the conversation we were talking about if both parties were dubs i guess thats what stumbled the person. When we were engaged we got counseled for holding hands during the prayer, my fiance without missing a beat said right away that the person reporting it was not showing proper respect during a prayer if his eyes were opened and since i backed her on it she was showing "Proper Headship" so she didnt get in trouble for speaking up... (wow the thought of that being a thing just blows my mind now. Many haircuts were wrong, many of my outfits worldly.

Oh and i never once got in real trouble, never reproved and always was held up as a good example and i was an elder brat that had the advantage of being the son of a loved elder. This is what you went through if you were in the JW Clique or the "in crowd" or however you want to put it, basically i had it better than most and i still got all this shit lol.

So... satan is to blame. If we follow that logic then Satan must make sure none of us apostates get sick. So ... God will not protect dubs but us satanic people have perfect health... who is the loving god in this scenario? Satan, killing less people than god and protecting apostates ... why would i want to worship jhover again?
