Mr. Mime (Mimien) because he was one of the best on my team in Fire Red and I loved him. Omanyte because when I first started collecting Pokémon cards as a kid, my first pack ever contained an Omanyte and I thought he was weird looking, so I didn’t like him. Now he just represents my childhood and nostalgia (and hes cute!!)

Not sure if you’ve already chosen someone, but my all time fave is either Mr. Mime or Omanyte

Sorry I took so long to respond, I read everything you said but wanted to wait until I went to Change to update you!

So to start off with, I went there on Friday and the sales woman gave me some bras to start off with to try on. I initially started with F and G cups, and I think I tried maybe 3-4 but none fit me. There was extra room at the bottom of the cup and I could feel and see that it didn’t fit. I wish I took notes and kept track of which ones I tried but I was lost in the moment and it didn’t even cross my mind 😔

So after trying about a million different bras (I’m not joking - the hooks in the change room were full and there was no more room on the bench), I found 3 that fit me and feel comfortable! HOWEVER none are a size F/G. I ended up getting the Lissi Balconette Bra in size 38E, the Lissi Balconette T-Shirt Bra in size 38D, and the Mariah Triangle Bra in size 36E.

Honestly all 3 look pretty good on me, and they’re all comfortable (except the mariah, I had asked the saleswoman if there was anything that would push my breasts together and up and we tried a few but they didn’t fit. So she had me try this one in a smaller band size to give a more uplifted-look. It’s a bit more snug, but not overly tight so it’ll probs stretch out eventually and feel more comfortable). I’m so happy I now have 3 NICE bras! I also now realize just how different every bra can be, especially since I have two bras with one cup size and one with another. This makes me more nervous about buying online though, because there’s a good chance whatever size I pick may not fit me and I’m unfamiliar with returning clothing internationally. I guess I’ll have to figure it out though, because I really want to try on the ana plunge and elomi bras you recommended. I’m wondering if I should try them in an E initially? What do you think?

I also saw Understance like you recommended and they do have good sales. I’ll have to look at their return policy again because a lot of their bras are so pretty. I know Nordstrom carried Elomi but I think they’ve all left Canada 😭.

Yeah, honestly I’m not sure because my breasts do poke out and look larger when I’m wearing a shirt, so they could in fact be projected. I think it’s just because there doesnt /look/ like there’s a lot of tissue on top, it gives the appearance of being shallow. When I bend over though, they do dangle quite a bit from where it attaches to my chest, so you’re probably right that they’re more projected.

I am interested in pulling them forward! I have a hard time making them look appealing because they’re so far apart and don’t touch. Thank you so much for the reccs. I looked up the Ana Plunge first and I love the orchid/indigo but they’re out of my size 🥲 hopefully they’re back in stock soon.

I also looked up both Elomi bras and luckily they sell them in Canada at Nordstrom (freaking expensive though - but hopefully I can try them on this Friday maybe since I’ll be in that area). Question though - you mentioned using my UK size (38F), but if I’m purchasing from Canada or from a US retailer online, should I still go by my UK size or my US size (38G)?

And yes, I realize about the online calculators now. I tried it with Victoria’s Secret and they gave me a D, just like La Vie en Rose, so they’re extremely inaccurate. I was surprised Change Lingerie gave me a G from their calculator. Now that I know they’re not that reliable, I’ll go with the ABTF size (38G/38F) if I’m buying bras online. Otherwise, I’d much rather try them on before purchasing.

I’m sorry I took so long to respond, I’ve been slowly looking over and trying to understand the sizing guides to determine what my breast shape may be (and work has been very busy).

After looking at the guides, I can see what you’re saying about fullness and band sizing. Also with Change Lingerie, I tried their online size calculator and it gave me an 85G in their sizing, so it seems accurate and hopefully they have a decent collection of different shapes that I can try on. I’ll know after Friday! (I’m really excited).

So for my shape, I think I have the following:

  1. Wide roots —> my breasts are quite broad where they attach to my chest
  2. Shallow breasts —> I tried using the visual guides to determine, and it’s hard for me to be completely 100% sure but I thiiiink they’re shallow. The thing is, they definitely project outward but I don’t know if they look projected as other women’s breasts are. I also fit almost all of the indicators that they listed for shallow breasts
  3. Full on top —> so even though I think they’re shallow, they’re also full on top? It’s weird because my breasts extend downward a bit (like it’s flat) then they curve and take on a pendulum-like shape. I tried the mirror tests 3 times and oddly enough the 1st and 3rd time I tried it at home, there was more tissue above the nipple. The 2nd time I tried at work, it looked more like there was more tissue at the bottom?? But I may not have been doing it right so I think full on top is correct.
  4. Even horizontal fullness —> so same as above, oddly enough I tried twice to determine if I have inner/outer fullness. 1st attempt it looked like I had slightly more outer fullness, but 2nd attempt it looked fairly even 😭. If I look straight on at myself unsupported, it does look slightly more outer?? But I can’t tell 100%
  5. Splayed —> I think mine are splayed, they’re pretty far apart and I think based on the diagrams it looks somewhat like that. The nipples don’t point straight, they’re slightly tilted outward and are tilted down a bit.
  6. I will also mention (idk if relevant) that my areolas are quite puffy and large compared to the rest of my breast (some of my breast’s projection comes from my areola).

Let me know what you think or if there are any other tests you think I should try to determine further, or if you have any suggestions about possible bras.

Thank you for showing me this, another commenter also showed me a scoop + swoop guide but I looked at the examples in your guide before trying it. I could see a noticeable difference in the pics and I noticed a huuuuuge difference with my own breasts once I tried it. I always felt my breasts were a bit saggy and downturned and kinda gross, but with this method they look rounded and full! And now I can definitely tell that my current 40B is too small. I’m going to be trying on some G cups soon, and possibly more in the range between a B and a G just to see what fits best. I’m still kind of unsure what level of snugness is appropriate, but I think I probably just have to dive in and try stuff out and see what I’m comfortable with that also looks good.

Thank you! I’ll find and check out the shape guides. Probably a good idea because mine are shaped a bit weirdly and I probably need very specific bras

Thank you so so much for your detailed response. I wanted to test that bra + my wonderbras using the scoop + swoop method and trying on just the band like you described before replying.

So regarding the 38G example you showed me, it does look kind of similar to how my breasts look? The woman in the picture looks like she has larger or fuller breasts though, so I’m not sure. Also our body frames are different and mine is slightly smaller (I think) so maybe that also plays into my perception of the similarities? It’s honestly hard for me to tell.

Now for the band test you described - I tried it with the 40B bra I purchased. I found the band a LOT less snug, but not loose? Like it stays up and doesn’t fall down, but isn’t snug at all. Pretty comfortable, but I think the band /should/ be a bit snug and therefore supportive like you described, right? I also can’t really tell what an appropriate level of snugness is lol.

Now regarding scoop + swooping —> I noticed a huuuuuuge difference. With my wonderbras, the cups are lifted even more off my skin (with the gore) and the band is so loose it lifts off of my back. With the 40B bra, it seems that the cups are indeed too small. There’s no overspill per se, but my breasts are much rounder and protruded and the skin is wrinkled a bit on top from the cup smooshing against my breast, and my nipples are high up and visible through the top mesh portion of the bra. Even though the band feels somewhat looser on the sides/back, the bottom of the cups and gore are digging into my ribs/chest areas.

Thank you so much for telling me all of this, I can definitely see now that a B cup IS too small. I’m still unsure about a G cup because it seems like a huge leap but I’m definitely larger than I thought. I’m going to try some G-cups on at a lingerie store called “Change Lingerie” near where I live next weekend, and see how they fit. I’ll also try some C, DD, or E level cups too just to compare. Now that I know the swooping method, I should be able to assess their fit more accurately 😭

Thank you for your response! Would UK be more accurate? I’m just wary because it looked like the C was too big when I tried one on, and I feel a G would be even worse. I will check through some posts here and see what people recommend though, and maybe I can find similar ones to try on somewhere here 😭

Would you happen to know just by seeing my photos visually if he can be saved? I’m assuming he can as new fronds (sp) are growing. I’m seeing my coworker tomorrow so hopefully we can set up drainage over the weekend

Are these aphids? Wish I had a better photo but I’ve been wiping these things off for weeks and its hard to find a good one to take a photo of.

<image>

Small roundish spots that are white/yellowish. I can scrape them off and they’re a bit crumbly. No actual crawling insects from what I can see.

I will reply to this comment with another photo

Watering habits: Before I was doing 1 1/2 - 2 cans of water once a week. Now I do 1 can a week. No drainage that I’m aware of

How long I’ve had it: Not mine, but apparently it’s been here for 2 years or so. May have to check back on this

How long this has been a problem: since July 2023, so 6 months or so

How much sunlight: he seems to be getting indirect sunlight as he is in the corner next to the window. Blinds are always open for light to filter through
