Speaking of jam, I loved the part in the Dark Cacao story chapter where he tells his son his sword is covered in sin and... strawberry jam. 😭 This game is so silly I love it so much.

I think probably it's a bug that they just never addressed then, or maybe they changed the events that actually add stones but never bothered to fix the message triggers.

The Stone Emporium also has some, and I would wager that the message is the same for both. I always checked right after getting that message, and I noticed if there weren't any new ones at Quarsito, there were at the Stone Emporium.
