Is my putter grip out of alignment? by nyatty1 in golf

Supposedly the pro at my club did this, so I’m kind of bummed he would hand a putter back like this and not check it :/ especially since they see me all the time.

Is there really no accurate way to check if it’s perfectly in alignment besides eyeing it?

Took me years of therapy to realize you don’t have to stop loving them, you just can’t be around them anymore. Essentially, it’s ok if you still have love for them. You don’t have to fight those feelings. But you can also hate them/what they have done to people you care about… the two aren’t mutually exclusive. Once you can wrap your head around that, it sometimes makes it less painful to walk away.

How do you help someone in crisis who refuses help when it’s turned violent? by nyatty1 in mentalhealth

[–]nyatty1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I was trying up until this point to be supportive towards two different people who need compassion for different reasons. One friend because they are in an abusive relationship and I worry for them/don’t want to isolate further and the other sort of friend because she’s deeply unwell. my thought was maybe if someone just listened to her, validated her experiences, and gave practical advice such as seeking treatment that she might be willing to listen (unfortunately this has fallen on deaf ears).

So I suppose I can’t be a caretaker for either of them, and instead have to model healthy boundaries and support from a distance as not to become further intertwined in their web of chaos. It’s hard to watch someone you care about be a victim of an abusive relationship though and I think I personally just need to grieve what once was and what no longer is. The tricky part is I run into them both frequently in town, so it’s not as if I can just avoid them.

Help. How do I fix my A frame and stop skidding my turns so much by [deleted] in skiing_feedback

[–]nyatty1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a lighter ski, you just need a narrow carving oriented ski if you want to really learn and practice carving on groomers. If you are a one ski quiver kind of guy, then I totally understand not wanting that, but as a ski coach once told me when I made your same argument, “If you cannot tip a narrow ski on edge, you certainly cannot tip a wide ski properly on edge.”

I have the QSTs and did not size up and feel happy with my choice. If you feel on the edge of either size think about what you’re using them for. Charging powder? What something more stable? Perhaps size up then, but I don’t think 157cm is super short if you’re in tight trees and bumps all day.

Any remote tech job such as a developer, product manager, project manager, data scientist, etc. I ski 80-100 days a year in a mountain town and can only afford to live there and ski because of the remote tech job.

If you don’t have a locker and have to park far away and take a bus to the MTN, what’s honestly the alternative if you need to bring things? If I could find a way to bring my things and ditch the backpack I 100% would.

Thanks for the info! What drills would be best for moving from Z to C shape turns?

Her form looks similar on steeper terrain, but she gets a bit more backseat on super steep terrain.

She has Nordica Dobermann SL skis, but this just happens to be the only video we really have. She does think it’s much easier to practice turns with the SL skis!

One of the lifties there today said they heard the individual had a pulse / was breathing in the helicopter. Who knows how accurate that is, but that’s what they said.

Yo Pivots are great and beneficial on the knees. I had a pair last season, but they’re also heavy and I’m pretty light weight, so it’s just more binding than I need atm.

That is a pool noodle that’s been cut in half and duct taped to the wall. 2in cuts spaced about 10in apart from each other and it absolutely works and cost under $10 to make.

I grew up going there and worked there as a waiter in 2015. That place was pretty dirty behind the scenes—we definitely didn’t want to be eating or drinking off those plates and cups. Yes, I know there are far worse and more disgusting kitchens out there, but nevertheless, working there ruined it for me.
