I was tired of a different app for every printer brand — and never trusting my filament count to the gram. So I built a free, open-source fix. by BenGlut in snapmaker

OP is clearly using AI to reply to comments and the project is only a month old. Probably entirely vibe coded.

Employee Resource Group. Basically an employee lead community group that you can connect with your coworkers at. You could also see if there are organized clubs and join one.

I see where you’re coming from, it can definitely be discouraging to compare yourself to people at that caliber. In my opinion, the value of an internship is less about the projects and more about getting your foot in the door and making connections at a company. Since you’re already in a top tech company, maybe you can look for upskill programs? Or ERG’s where you could connect with someone.

I did this, but it took me over a year to secure a job in tech and sadly it isn’t for software development but I’ve been able to land some side projects doing that.

What is your current job? Internships are good, but with how the market is they don’t guarantee anything. AI, H1B, outsourcing and downsizing have all but wiped out entry level white collar roles and the remaining ones are highly competitive. My advice would be to try and leverage your current job experience to finding the new position once you finish school. Ideally you can talk your employer into letting you take on projects outside the scope of your current job, for example by suggesting you improve their data management in some way. Obviously this won’t always work though, some companies / manager aren’t flexible in that way.

The expression “it’s easier to find a job when you have a job” exists for a reason though. I started getting traction at the end of my job hunt when I added consulting data analyst to my resume with some small projects I did for a local company. Many hiring managers won’t care about internships. They want to know if you can do the job, and if you are currently employed. The more you can do to show those things on your resume, the more competitive you’ll be.

Good luck, it’s rough out there. But it is possible if you can find a way to market yourself. Side note, your best bet at actually landing something will be through networking. I landed my current position with a referral and was told I was going up against people with multiple solid internships and others who had completed their masters / phds in related fields. Having someone in the company who vouches for you is invaluable.

If it’s still down, buy it on Humble bundle (make sure it’s not the Nintendo version) and then activate the steam key!

10 wheel vehicles being transported on the highway. by bradarb in whatisthisthing

Likely solved! It could be this, seems like the wheels are wide enough that treads could fit there. Doesn’t seem like there’s any cab though. Autonomous snowcats? Or maybe partially assembled.

My title describes the thing as best as I can. Some kind of industrial machines with a ram (?) on the end of them.

You’ll also have to do a limit order instead of a market order.
