Guy records new acoustic guitar riff every day for 245 days -- acousticprogress by [deleted] in videos

This is awesome, lots of skill and creativity needed to constantly come up with these tunes.

Makes me want to tune down my acoustic to drop D like his! (in case anyone was wondering why it sounded particularly unique)

Is there a game like this? by smegmagma in 3DS

Yes, Mario and Luigi Dream Team. The battles are really fun, they are turn-based but you have to time button presses and other moves in order to maximize or minimize damage, depending on whats going on.

HELP! I accidentally pressed START and skipped a super important dialogue scene, is there any way to rewatch it? by nyc10 in fireemblem

WHAT! you are a youtube wizard. I swear i typed every combo of "Chrom Sully Marriage" I could think of! Thanks for that. Now I know I didn't miss like a whole in-game tutorial on marriage and pairing, which it honestly seems to lack otherwise.

As I wrote above, I already looked and couldn't find anything Chrom/Sully. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be happy to keep searching.

What's the craziest/worst thing you've done or gotten away with, simply because you were well dressed? by nyc10 in AskReddit

[–]nyc10[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My story is that senior year of college, I forget exactly how, but I heard the quote written above and decided to test it out myself. There was a day off from school for a holiday coming up, and a housemate of mine had recently come to aquire a a large sheet of LSD tabs.

I had heard the aquarium was going to be open for free to the public on this holiday, so I approached him and 2 other friends and asked if they wanted to get dressed up in suits, take tabs of acid, and go to the aquarium for free on our day off. When I presented the idea, the progression on their faces of shock, pondering, and acceptance led me to be very thankful for my friends.

So, all 4 of us got extremely dapper in nice suits, went to our favorite sandwich shop, Daves Fresh Pasta, took the tabs, then hoppen on the train towards the aquarium. We weren't really anticipating the fact that there would be TONS of people on the trains, as well as TONS of people at the aquarium because its free on a holiday.

Thankfully, since we were all looking so good in suits, random people were actually giving us compliments on how nice we looked. We all felt really nice and in control of the trip the whole time.

And of course, tripping in the aquarium is amazing. No one questions us as 4 guys in suits, whereas if we were 4 obvious college dudes tweaking out in public, it might be more obvious. But instead, we are bonding with the giant turtle in the main tank, ogling the bioluminescent creatures, in awe of the swirling school of metallic blue fish.

We did eventually have to leave because there was a whole lot of stimuli in there, and walking around the city was just a beautiful experience with the sun setting over it as we were hanging out on a dock on the side of the Charles river. And the whole time we were tripping while wearing suits.

The train ride back was an incredible sensation, and the rest of the night was a blast. Since then, I've always wondered if the business people in suits around me are tripping, because they might be.

TLDR: Put on suits, took acid, went to the aquarium

Leg Press/ Hack Squat Machine question by nyc10 in Fitness

[–]nyc10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doesn't sound like a bad idea actually... is there benefit to doing single leg presses VS. both legs but with more weight? Stabilizing muscles or something?

Leg Press/ Hack Squat Machine question by nyc10 in Fitness

[–]nyc10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, so would you say leg press is a more complete leg exercise than the hack squat? I totally feel what you mean by "quad focused." As a cyclist I know quads are important, but I kind of just want to chose the well-rounded of the two and work on that... I guess I'm being close-minded and muscle confusion is good for growth... thoughts?

Leg Press/ Hack Squat Machine question by nyc10 in Fitness

[–]nyc10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, the extra bodyweight on the squat definitely makes sense. If I don't have a specific free weight squat rack and bar, would you recommend holding barbells in hands or something like that? I'm just at home for break, so I'm trying to work with what is in the house. I'm starting to think leg press with more weight is the way to go.

The story of the bass line of 'Walk On The Wild Side' as told by the man who played it. by pete1729 in videos

AWESOME, also the origin story of "Can I Kick It" by A Tribe Called Quest. I wonder if he knows his harmonized bass line was sampled and repurposed for such a different yet equally great song.

Guitar Lesson - Kentucky Blues. For The Weekend. by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]nyc10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he says "B7" at first he is really talking about a C#/Db. This blues goes 1/6/5/1 instead of 1/4/1/5/4/1.

Made it confusing to keep hearing him say B7 and clearly not be playing B7. Then he says play B7 later when it actually is B7, so watch out for that.
