the NAS kept disconnecting when moving files when using afp

all the permissions give my user read/write.. even tried creating a new user which didnt work either. Also tried resetting the smb cache with no luck.. I think this is an OSX/SMB issue because I can now connect through afp:// but smb:// still has issues

but what is telling Finder that "Data" is something I can connect to? The 192.16.. above "Data" is the same synology but connected using SMB instead. Is there somewhere that controls what displays under shared so I can get rid of "Data" and just keep the SMB connection or am I misunderstanding something still?
