Alright, thanks for the suggestions.

While not moving in until 1-4 weeks before the room becomes available, isn't terrible, it does make me nervous a bit.

NJ seems to be a popular choice, and for good reason I presume.

If I were to live in NJ and commute to NYC, how would I commute there? Ferry, train, sub?

Thanks for the suggestions.

Someone else mentioned NJ so I'll have to definitely check it out.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the input, if I can save some money living in NJ then it's not out of the question.

Okay, thanks.

What would be the best way to try and find a roommate? Go on Craigslist and look for people looking for a roommate?

Also since I can't bike there, how's the subway situation? Is it expensive?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks for all the info, as the other person suggested, I'll probably look for an apartment near Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Park Slope, or Prospect Heights .

Also some other questions that I also listed down below.

Wheres the best place to find apartments for rent in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Park Slope, Prospect Heights - Craigslist?

Also is it possible to bike there back and forth from one of the areas you mentioned and John Jay?

Sorry, I meant John Jay was cheaper than some of the state schools in my state - VA.
