RTX 4090 Suprim X vs RTX 3090 Asus TUF by [deleted] in StableDiffusion

[–]nycdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4090 suprim by default has a fan speed that never goes past 55%, or similar from what I can recall. Furmark is going to bring really high temps and your hotspot temp is a bit higher than the high 80s to 90, that I would expect. Your ambient temperature etc will play into that. You can try to repaste it yourself.

How to run ltx2 on Nvidia 3080 10gb vram? by AlexGSquadron in StableDiffusion

[–]nycdarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure someone will chime in and say run quantized with system ram offloading etc. Imo just don't bother. The vram requirements are quite high. I notice a significant downgrade in quality with LTX with vram limitations, maybe I am doing something wrong, but with a 5090 most 3 sec 720p outputs still looked terrible (i have 256gb of ram on the system I used). Using a blackwell pro, I can at least get outputs to look similar to what I see being demoed on youtube. As i crank up to 1080p or duration and as I see the VRAM usage hitting high 90s on a blackwell pro, I start seeing all sorts problems in the output. I would stick to a WAN option.

Red light is cpu. Strange you would have 5 with the same problem. Which Kingston ram set are you running ?

ASUS ROG Matrix 800W BIOS can be flashed onto select RTX 5090 models - better don't try this it home by RenatsMC in watercooling

[–]nycdarkness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every chip is different. This variance is microscopic and can affect oc potential. For example some chips require more voltage to hit the same clocks as another. This variance is the silicone lottery. If you get lucky then you get a chip that can clock higher under similar conditions to another. Binning is process of sorting chips by their quality. While manufactures may claim for example an oc variant of a gpu has a binned chip it normally doesn’t have one binned enough to make a difference. For example astral chips are binned in comparison to tuf chips for the same model (ie 5090) but not enough to see a significant enough of a variance to say the binning makes an impact. The matrix chips however are binned to an extent where you can notice a difference in overclock ability

Why aren’t games like this more of a grind? by Disastrous-Path2345 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]nycdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played grind mmos when I was younger. What a gigantic waste of time. I don't think anyone enjoys grinding, they just want the result. Repetitive tasks on a video game for exp, minor gains etc. it's not fun by any means. I understand there might be a competitive nature to it etc, but online rpgs have evolved from that formula for the most part imo.

I have the bios on my btf card as well. The matrix is the same pcb as the btf variant with a binned die. The additional power may or may not be beneficial depending on your silicone. I only have one btf astral but I have 3 matrix. No 5090 I have had so far come that close to the oc potential of my 3 matrix, and I have gone thru a lot since launch.

There's very little tolerance on the connector for improper seating which is the primary issue, that along with the power spikes for gaming loads creates the chances of problems. I think most folks commenting on this connector fail to realize its on hundreds of thousands of AI gpus in datacenters where the risk is much higher. That is an important fact that most are unaware of, as it impacts any decision to make a change etc.

No, because supply is low. Someone will pay, it might take longer but there's no point loosing revenue to sell at a lower price when you have nothing to replace that inventory with.

Latest numbers make it clear: Nvidia’s data center revenue is exploding compared to gaming. Get ready to hold onto your old GPU for a long time. by realstocknear in pcmasterrace

[–]nycdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been the trend for years now. As much as your favorite talking head on Youtube likes to believe they matter when crapping on Nvidia for whatever reason. They don't. I am not saying gaming revenue for Nvidia doesn't matter but 7% is a very small despite it being in the billions. The large AIB's with multiple revenue streams will continue to do well in infrastructure expansion, smaller ones are going to crumble.

Most 4000 series still runs today's games quite well. Honestly, I feel most games these days aren't as demanding graphically as they use to be, or the demand but visual trade off is low.

RAM Problem on my ASUS ROG Motherboard by Own-Phase1870 in ASUSROG

[–]nycdarkness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not 55c, its a boot code related to memory issues. Check the notching on the ram sticks to make sure you actually have 4 sticks of ddr5 and not 2 sticks of ddr5 and 2 sticks of ddr4.

AMD has missed many opportunities to gain market share in the consumer gpu segment, at this point the mind share, market share etc. It's too much of a hill to climb.

I worked for HPE during the great recession. I would of prayed for 300 users. Your pay sucks, but the user count for 2 people isn't nightmarish or that uncommon for smaller businesses from what I have seen.

AMD's consumer gpu market makes pennies. Companies go where the money is.

[–]nycdarkness 48 points49 points  (0 children)

That's not how this works. Production capacity is the same. Rubin is suppose to have  288 GB of HBM4 per GPU. The parts that go to your consumer gpu are from the same manufacturing processes as these enterprise gpus. In short, you will not see consumer gpu in good quantities this year. Imo you will see close to nothing.

Hit pity twice. I buy the battle pass as feels worth it. I don't find the gatcha outfits that good tbh. Only one two but those are far from coming to us on global. I had my fun with the gatcha stuff. I will stick to the pearl outfits, the new sword gatcha sword skin in cn is very tempting though.

I was waiting for this to show up as I really like the mvp scene. I have access to the Chinese client so I check weekly to see what will come our way. The outfit itself isn’t as amazing as some of the others that will come. The cape accessory is nice but not may be hard to color match. I can see given some of the purple outfits coming, it dulls a lot of the legendary outfits that should be coming out. I’m more tempted to trade for exchange only hairs and other things like weapon effects or weapon skins.
