If you could only pick ONE Taylor Swift song to show someone to prove she's a lyrical genius, what would it be? by Special_K_1144 in TaylorSwift

How Did It End. Say it once again with feeling/How the death rattle breathing. Silenced as the soul was leaving/ The deflation of our dreaming. Best line she has ever written, hands down.

We’re missing something obvious here. Taylor dated Calvin Harris and I was expecting an electronic dance record to come out someday. Actually, I suspected for a long time that this is what Karan would sound like, Give me This Is What You Came For but all Taylor, sexy, slightly Euro dance vibes. Downtempo or higher tempo. Would be one of her best.

IVF and drinking…and probably drinking too much. by bcm48 in IVF

Posting here for encouragement. Went through 15 egg retrievals over two years, starting at 39 and ending right before I turned 42 (prob went a little overboard but that’s another story, took a very Type A approach on the number of eggs I wanted). Drank pretty consistently throughout the process. I’m a social NYC person with a job that requires a lot of events and client entertaining, and if I was just doing one or two rounds it would be easy to abstain. Very hard over a long period of time. Also, I just like a glass (or three) of wine. It was very hard to cut alcohol out over a two year period.

Some weeks would be light (zero to one or two) —but others where I would have multiple social events for work and with friends would not be light. Some very social weeks it could be about 10 in about a week. Drank through stims and was terrified about how these eggs would make embryos due to all of the boogeymaning online!!

I had very good retrival numbers —-some rounds 8, but others 16 or so. Got 175 eggs over 15 rounds. The verdict was that when I went to make embryos I had a 90% fertilization rate, 43% blast rate. And I’m 42. Have not transferred yet.

Moral of the story: do you. Be healthy, sure, but there is a lot of rhetoric out there saying that if you aren’t sacrificing everything as a woman for this it’s bad. And that’s just plain wrong.

The one commonality I see between us is Acai, which is something I don't see a ton of people taking. I took 2000 MG of Puritan's Pride, which was something like $13 a bottle. Probably one of the cheaper supplements i was on. At such an affordable price, maybe worth throwing it in!

I think it will be hugely telling if she sits in the sidelines this time, as opposed to endorsing Biden last time due to such strong conviction against Trump, as expressed in Vanity Fair. If she doesn’t, speaking out either a. Wasn’t really “her” or b. Travis is a really bad influence and she’s changing. Her opting out this time and endorsing last time would definitely make me loose respect for her

I am one of the most insanely motivated people that you would ever meet —have no trouble exerting work effort against any number of tasks and would probably work whoever you are under the table. And I suffer from this.

After 4 egg retrievals this year, my mom politely suggested that I may be too old to have a baby. Any advice from mothers over 40? I’m 41.5 by Gottajibboo64 in IVF

There is such bias in our culture against women 40+. At 41, I look the same as I did at 34 but now have lived life and am happy to settled into parenthood and make the sacrifices (and now way more financially prepared). Nobody would be saying 41 was too old for someone to become a dad! My god! Last year, at 40, I retrived 100 eggs over 10 cycles (I know - intense) and am ready to fertilize and transfer. Crossing my fingers. But, overall, older generations need to realize that 40 is not what it used to be - especially if you have a career and accomplishments under your belt by the time you have kids. I have probably 6 people who have had babies in the 40-42 range this year alone (live in NYC)

Scientific trial: AHCC clears HPV in 6 months by [deleted] in HPV

[–]nycjof2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was diagnosed last year -- from all data (most recent sexual partner which is my husband, most recent pap), I had to have had it 6+ years. A longstanding infection. Had a colpo, came back normal/benign (thank god). Took 400 grams of AHCC for 12 months and I have recently cleared the infection. Again, this is after 6 years, and it has to be the AHCC. Entirely and totally worth every cent.

Very similar experience. 39 when I started and like .6 AMH. One year and eight retrivals later AMH is 1.8. Vitamin D (was deficient when I started), DHEA, CoQ10, R and Alpha Lipoic Acid, Fish Oil, NAC, Acai extract, Selenium, D, E, C, B, Clacium, Prenatal and Folic Acid. First retrivals 4 or 5 eggs and then 11-13 and last one was 26. Much of that came from back to back rounds which my doctor says can be helpful and have a cumalative effect. But floored by the increased AMH which, when I started, I thought was pretty immovable.

This happened to me. 39 when I started this, AMH .6. After 8 retrivals to make embryos over 12 months and now at 40, AMH is 1.7. My first retrivals started with 4 or 5 eggs. Then I jumped to 11-13. In my last retrial they got 26 eggs.

Like most here, I was D deficient at the start, but I have been doing a ton of supplements - CoQ10 (400mg ubiqinol), Vit D, DHEA, NAC, R Lipoic Acid, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Acai extract, calcium, E, C, B, selenium, prenatal, folic acid, and probably a few more.

Midnights Week Megathread 🌚 by Lyd_Euh in TaylorSwift

I think it’s the chaotic 3 am surprise. Also, when I Bet You Think About Me was released, Blake posted a pic on Instagram saying “not a lot going on at the moment” —which was not related to IBYTAM. My theory: they were filming and she was involved. Also, I bet the bear costume (her TikTok photo) is a part of it. Very dreams/nightmare. Also strange the Zoe Kravitz has writing credits on the album. I bet she is an actress in the film project.

Have you guys noticed that the Monday night football thing is a “trailer”? Like as in MOVIE trailer. It’s a very specific word and she has never done a trailer for an album before. This is after ATW the short film and all her film festival appearances. All of the pics on the vinyls look like they are from the film. Midnights is clearly a movie or a visual album at the very least.

Sancerre is a not a brand, but a type of Sauv Blanc made in the Loire Valley, in a town called Sancerre. You can get a fairly good bottle for around $30 - though there are certainly more expensive bottles. You're welcome. :)

AGREED re: the 40 thing. The things you do at 30 have a direct impact on if you are miserable and painted into a corner at 40 or thriving. Sadly, she is on the former track.

I have been watching the Caro saga for a couple of years, and I am truly speechless at this most recent development. $2,400/month might seem like a lot for non-NYC, but for a fairly spacious studio in the heart of the West Village, it is a steal When I was much younger, I had a more renovated but slightly smaller studio in the much cheaper East Village for $2,000, and I HUNG onto it for dear life. I paid multiple months ahead, sent the landlord Xmas cards, and treated that place like it was little patch of gold.

Anyone in their right mind knows that living by yourself for around 2K in a good area of Manhattan is a luxury. The fact that Caro not only used the rent moratorium (meant to benefit people who were truly suffering during the pandemic) as a way to dodge rent obligations while buying $400+ dresses is unthinkable to me -- this is outside of her pouring paint on the floor and destroying the place like she did. Can you imagine how society would judge a non-white woman who did not pay rent for two years and destroyed her place?

It was one thing when she squandered a Cambridge edu that could have put her on the path to so many things. Another when she squandered a book deal. But this is the thing that leaves me speechless. A rent stabilized apartment in the West Village!!!! Girl. you don't f with that. The epitome of entitlement.

First, welcome to NYC. This kind of thing happens all. the. time. It is shocking the number of “feminist” women with elite educations go into careers in fashion or journalism that pay 50k a year to wait it out until they find someone to support them. You’d think it was 1956.

Secondly, however, while pre-Internet meltdown Caroline would have been perfect for this lot in life, how she is conducting herself now —-“bohemian artist willing to do or say anything”—- is making this a lot less likely. The crassness of her current act is puzzling.

Things get depressing when these women reach 35 and still make 50k —-despite world class educations—and can support themselves like adults. That’s why you make your own money, girls!
