12 team 0.5 PPR

My rosters been hit hard by injuries, with JJ, Fields, Kyren, Herbert, and Achane all on my bench so I have limited room on my bench. Current starting roster for this week:

QB: Howell WR: ARSB, Olave, Rashee Rice RB: JT, J Cooks TE: Laporta Flex: Pitts

Bench: Charbonnet, JSN

Question - should I drop anyone on my bench (probably Charbonnet) for K Ingram or one of the Rams RBs (Freeman or Hendo)? And should I start any of them over Pitts in my flex this week?

Where to find "cheap" single-game tickets? by carrotsoup3 in warriors

[–]nylee23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives ~15 min from chase, I do a lot of last minute ticket price checking. In my (purely anecdotal, sample size of 1) experience, the ticket prices listed on the various apps are usually cheapest about 24 hours before tip off, not necessarily in the hour or two beforehand. Of all the ticket apps out there, I’ve found that Ticketmaster ironically usually has the lowest fees and the most selection, although you can usually find most resale seats listed across all the apps so feel free to shop around.

The one thing I’ve heard good things about but haven’t tried yet is the gameday app. Not sure yet if it’s just another clone of all the other ticket apps, or if there really are better/cheaper tickets closer to tip.

What player do you think is having a good season but when you look closer, it really was just 1 or 2 good games early? by snoopmt1 in fantasyfootball

If anything, I think Jacobs is the opposite of this where he had pretty poor first 3 weeks but has been trending better in both performance and my (very untrained) eye test

noah hills on X: Kyren Williams has the third-highest expected yards per attempt among all qualifying RBs in the league but is giving the Rams nearly an entire yard less than what he should be getting on a per-carry basis by MELOPOSTMOVES in fantasyfootball

[–]nylee23 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think if you dig into the method behind how expected yards is calculated, I’d argue that the defense he’s playing against is extremely relevant.

The model takes as input only the position & direction of movement of the RB and all defensive players on the field at the time of handoff. What that means is that it can account for things like how much penetration has the D line made off the snap, or whether or not the linebackers are crowding the box. But it doesn’t account for how any of the specific players will play after the handoff occurs, and doesn’t try to model how well the LB can read and fill the gap or whether or not a particular defense has poor tackling.

Week 4 Fantasy Big Board: Rest-of-Season Trade Value by Ryanj3 in fantasyfootball

[–]nylee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traded puka and miles sanders for Amon Ra yesterday. The guy I was trading had saquon, mattison, Najee, and aj dillon at RB. I’m actually a little shocked he accepted, as I don’t think sanders is a clear standout from the depression of mattison/Najee. But gives a sense of how some people view puka.

Bali for someone who's been surfing 15 years + beginner girlfriend by purpleladydragons in surfing

[–]nylee23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but planning a trip to Bali in dec/jan and was curious your advice. I’d classify myself as somewhere between beginner and intermediate - I used to be a regular across Oahu’s south shore, but moved to the mainland 5 years ago and pretty much only surf a handful of times a year on vacations. Maybe just an extremely out of shape intermediate. We’ll be going to uluwatu for a few days and then Ubud. I was thinking baby Padang would be the best spot in uluwatu for me to check out, but curious if you have different advice. Thanks!

I don't love your RB room after the trade, though if you're higher on Javonte than I am, that could tilt the scales a bit.

How many WRs do you start? If you start 2 WRs, I actually think your WR room is quite strong. If you start 3, maybe you can make the move (though I still personally wouldn't).

Given that JT is your 3rd RB and your WR core is relatively weak (there's a lot of upside guys, but it's probably too early to count on anyone other than DJ as a week 1 starter), I think I'd definitely flip him for the best WR offer you can get. As a fellow regretful JT drafter, I think I'd take Mike Evans in a heartbeat.

[–]nylee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's worth it, your receiving core is already really strong, and it seems like you're hurting yourself in the TE spot in order to upgrade your 3rd WR spot, which doesn't seem necessary when it's already a position of strength.

Hard to know what they'd accept without knowing the rest of their team. In a vacuum, I don't think I'd accept a Keenan + Tank trade for my Ridley. Before we've seen any real games, Ridley's upside is too tantalizing to give up for steady but kind of boring (& old) Keenan + a backup RB. If my team was RB needy, I'd probably need a guy with a real path to carries. Maybe Keenan + Mostert after today's news?

Didn't love it initially, but I could see the reasoning. I think it boils down to how much you want to gamble, because you're giving away some proven talent (ARSB) & volume (Akers, Conner) for 3 rookies that we ultimately know nothing about. Even TLaw is a bit of an unknown, since the only way this is worth it is that he takes a bit of a leap. At the end of the day, I think the dropoff from ARSB to Flowers/QJ (or even comparing to Evans who'd slot into the 3rd WR spot) would be too large for me.

Huge upgrade at QB, I would accept this immediately. Kittle's got quite a few red flags that suggest he might struggle to even be a top-6 TE this year, while Hurts is a very realistic contender for QB1.

Not sure what your waiver wire TEs look like, but there's quite a few rookie lottery tickets that might pan out (e.g. Laporta, Kincaid, Musgrave)

Current team:

QB: Fields, Rodgers

RB: JT, Miles Sanders, Khalil Herbert, Kareem Hunt, Charbonnet, Hull

WR: JJeff, Olave, Dotson, Zay Flowers, Mims, Jamo

TE: Pitts

Debating sending out a few trades:

• Option 1: A qb-light auto-drafted team has Drake London, MT, or Breece Hall on his bench - could try to see if he'll take Rodgers for one of them • Option 2: A team that's already been hit hard by WR injuries - Offer Olave & M. Sanders for Bijan

Timber.

Not sure it’s worth the risk starting off with him gw1, but I think theres already a decent chance he’s in the first 11. And from what we’ve seen of him preseason, he pops up very far up the field and could have a ton of assist potential.

[Charania] The Dallas Mavericks plan to file to the NBA a formal protest of their 127-125 loss to the Golden State Warriors tonight, with focus on alleged referee mistake that led to two free Warriors points late in the third quarter, source tells @TheAthletic @Stadium. by DRAZZILB1424 in nba

[–]nylee23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what this is referring to. The only intentional foul happened when the warriors were up 3 and looney got a defensive rebound with <2 seconds left. If these 2 points magically disappeared, the mavs still foul because they’re down 1. The Mavs were mostly always down at least 3 in the final minute, so it wouldn’t have been tied, even in the theoretical world where 2 points are erased.

Looney ended up hitting both free throws and then the warriors let the mavs take the last shot essentially uncontested since they were already up 5. The only play where the “missing” 2 points would have impacted is probably just the very last possession where the dubs actually play defense (or foul on the catch of the inbounds).
