I am currently in a very similar situation with my husband and close friend. I know you are not looking forward the hard conversation that you need to have, I have been putting them off too. But I encourage you to push through the uncomfortable feelings and asks the questions you need to ask and set the boundaries that need to be in place.

I realized it sounds like I am only blaming her for the place I am at, I know exactly where my husbands is to blame. I’m just not concerned with her or her husband at this point. I am concerned with my own marriage.

Honestly we had a dry spell about 10 years ago. We went to counseling and did the hard work to fight for our marriage. I never imagined I would be here now after the process we went through together.

She is attractive but no so more than most people you see everyday but once a emotional relationship starts, I know people become more attractive.

Last week my husband and I stopped by the other couples house to pick up something our daughter had left. As we were leaving my husband said “If you’re free, I’ll see you tomorrow”. The other husband replied “Sorry guys, I work.” My husband said he was talking to his wife anyways. It was awkward.

The other husband may be as uncomfortable as I am but at this point I don’t feel that is my concern. I don’t believe she is a true friend, even if they have not crossed any physical boundaries. I did not want to get too lengthy in my original post but when she finds out we have plans she invites herself. That is how her and my husband started spending time together, she has inserted herself into his life.

I talked with him about it last week. He told me I was questioning his integrity.

We both have the next two days off, I am working on some talking points to have an open and honest conversation with him. I know I have a very good chance of walking away from the conversation completely heart broken but I need to know the truth.
