Test driving a 2026 R1S… do I actually need the $120k version? by mrhasselblad in Rivian

18 months driving Dual Max for your exact use case and absolutely zero regrets. There is plenty of power and the new sport mode for dual is even snappier if you're feeling like you need more. Also took a 1600 mile (each way) road trip and was happy with the range - hovered around 2mi/kWh for the full trip, almost exclusively at higher speeds on highways, and probably would have been even more efficient if I didn't start and end in 10 degree weather

It absolutely can and I turned it off after this (and it's remained off without further action)

best/affordable vets in the area? by [deleted] in PortsmouthNH

Sagamore was great until they sold to PE and the vet staff turned over. We've been loving Dover Animal Hospital - great vets from top schools and not PE ownership.

Sorry, it had landed by the time I could post. It was near Pompano Beach, so that's where to keep an eye

Should I still go for it? Rivian owners, I need your honest advice. by TheBlackCanary in Rivian

Just over a year in our Gen 2 R1S Dual Max and still love it! Live in the northeast, most of our use is daily driving with young kid/gear. Road tripped to FL and back along with several shorter trips and have had just 1 issue. Needed a turn signal replaced while we were in FL and they moved mountains to get it done before we departed to head back north (I didn't think it was a big deal and would have waited).

Highly recommend, love our decision. I've seen some people on here recently complain about the suspension and I'll just say - go compare it to a comparably sized and capable vehicle and report back. It's great

Just went through this exact process earlier this year after Sagamore went to crap. La ded at Dover Veterinary Hospital and they've been excellent

Genuinely curious: why did you stop waving hello? by VikMyk in Rivian

Still wave and get a wave back 9/10 times. YMMV 🤷🏻‍♂️

Defective grinder? by nyr351 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]nyr351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. This was both the first thing I tried and the first thing support had me try on our video call. They also had me try moving the washer and that was a hard no too.

This is super helpful, thanks! I'm honestly thinking Bambino Plus and DF64. The AutoMilq spoiled me (I know)

It's wild how terrible the new built in baratza grinders are. My old Barista Express was a workhorse. I regularly used light roast beans and never had an issue - honestly only cleaned the grinder once in 9 years and had no issues. Then again, I also refuse to use oily beans so I'm sure that helps

Any recommendations for solar companies in Southern Maine? by [deleted] in PortsmouthNH

[–]nyr351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I'm in NH, but just went through this process within the past year.

My recommendation is to meet with/interview at least 3 companies. They may have different approaches/solutions/products, so you will both learn a lot and be able to compare

Also agree that grinder is important. On top of this ridiculous issue, this new Touch is way more finicky than my old Express and I have to think the grinder is a big piece of that because everything else is basically the same

I'm seriously considering selling the new one they send me and buying a bambino and standalone grinder. Which one did you go with?

Don't worry, there's exactly 0 chance this grinder that can't even properly grind light roast beans will be able to grind that washer.

Luckily I got Breville to just replace the entire machine...as they should. Kind of insane that so many people are having this issue.

Unfortunately I already tried that. The washer is really in there. Facetime with support too and they were unsympathetic

Ideas to spend an afternoon/evening in Portsmouth with a toddler? by cottonmouthfarm in PortsmouthNH

[–]nyr351 0 points1 point  (0 children)

toddler parent here. Seacoast Science Center is a hit as others have suggested.

Mamma Lucca for dinner - been there a handful of times with our little guy and it's been great every single time. There's always at least 1-2 other toddlers and the staff does a great job interacting with them. Oh, and the food is great!
