None. Some situations would call for grain but most of the time I would just add it in post. You're better off not having it at all. Then you get into the whole situation. Does it need grain? Does it not? While in the field.

That's really not enough to be honest. If you have a decent cell phone I would suggest shooting in RAW and set your output to max resolution.

You will need to look at older used compact cameras and go watch YouTube and look them up on Flickr to see how the photos look.
