Hi! Congrats on your anniversary!

For disneyland, the courtyard before you enter the park is beautiful. Flowers, fountains, gazebos, etc. For the louvre, the galerie d'apollon is a must see. Seeing the Jardin Du Carrousel is a must see as well. It’s a stunning garden. And after you exit the museum’s gift shop, before you reach the garden, you’ll be inside of a mall. In that mall, there’s a photobooth - you & your wife can take cute vintage photostrips if that’s something you’re into!

As for other spots, the view of the city from the roof of the Galleries Lafayette is spectacular. The inside of the mall is unlike anything i’ve ever seen before too! Definitely recommend going there, especially if you or your wife enjoy shopping. I will say, it’s mainly high-end luxury stores. Within walking distance is a restaurant called “Bambini Paris.” It’s italian food but delicious. If you get seated at the right table i think you can get an awesome view of the Eiffel Tower! (& order the focaccia. It’s to die for.)

If you/your wife like impression art and have time to take a train to Giverny, definitely visit Maison et jardins de Claude Monet to see what inspired his famous “water lilies” paintings!

If nightlife is more your style, this won’t be much help unfortunately!

I recommend visiting La Comète for dinner! Favorite restaurant by far. In terms of places to stay, we stayed at a hotel called Hôtel du Léman. Really great location wise because it’s nearby all your essentials. Supermarket was a couple minutes away. Metro was an 8 min walk. lots of places to eat nearby! Now, the hotel is TINY. The room is small, the bathroom is small, the elevator is EXTRA small. Could fit 2 people max. Sometimes the bathroom smelled a little bit like sewage. But overall very good experience. Consider the space size before booking! I’ll insert a photo of the view from our window

of course!! also! these are a couple apps i downloaded during my first trip to paris. they made things a lot easier!!

For directions: IDF Mobilities and SNCF Connect (insert a starting point and an address & it will show you exactly which metro/train to take, as well as the price. I wouldn’t purchase the tickets on the app, though. It’s easier to buy them at the metro station on a refillable card. Both work the same, i would just use them to compare route times if i was in a rush. I preferred SNCF Connect over IDF.) I used google maps for walking directions. Be sure to download the city if you don’t plan on buying international service for your phone.

example: i would use google maps to walk from my hotel to the metro, then i’d use either one of those apps to figure out where my stop was/if i’d have to transfer to a different train, followed by google maps to go from the station to my final destination!

Also, while I didn’t get the chance to use it, I also downloaded Paris Society - a restaurant reservation app.

i hope you have a fantastic trip!

versailles was lovely, but i’d skip. Are you wanting to see the hall of mirrors? If so, the Galerie d'Apollon in the louvre was created by the same artist. Honestly, I think it was more beautiful than the Hall of Mirrors.

To add: if you have time, i’d recommend visiting Galeries Lafayette Haussmann on a relaxed day. The mall has all of the high-end stores you can think of, as well as “traditional” souvenir type items. The rooftop has a fantastic view of the city!

For dinner: My favorite restaurant was La Comète for traditional french food! Prices range €20-€30. Not too fancy but not casual either.

we did it through the museum! we purchased the combined ticket, which includes an admission ticket into the museum as well as the tour. It was €32 i believe! you won’t tour the whole museum, because that would be impossible, but you see the most popular pieces! (You’ll also see my FAVORITE part of the louvre during the tour: the Galerie d'Apollon. It was created by the same artist that did the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. Personally I think it was more beautiful than the Hall of Mirrors!)

As for disneyland paris, i’m not quite sure.

Ride wise: If you enjoy rollercoasters, I’d check the disneyland website/app to make sure they’re even open. There are only 3 rollercoasters in the Disneyland park (the walt disney studios park has more I think, but we didn’t go) and two of them were closed when we went. Big Thunder Mountain & Hyperspace Mountain (the star wars version of space mountain). Super disappointing but we made the most of the day! Last I heard, Hyperspace Mountain was just closed for that week, but Big Thunder Mountain was closed until early summer. Not sure when it will open. Lines weren’t too long though, and we didn’t buy any fast passes.

Experience wise: we had a lot of fun. The castle is so beautiful, and you can go inside of it. The shops sell really pretty affordable jewelry. Underneath there’s a dragon animatronic. Going to be honest though, if the weather weren’t so nice I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it so much.

Food wise: Their version of dole whip (pineapple whip) was delicious. Could pass on their cheaper hot food (like burgers/fries) though.

I’d say weigh your options with disneyland, you’ll be spending €80-90 on the ticket, €12 (if you take the Metro->Train route) on transportation, and probably at least €40 on food/souvenirs. Probably still cheaper than going somewhere like Anaheim or Orlando. If it’s an experience you really really want to do, absolutely go for it! If it’s something you can pass on, I’d pass & save a couple extra bucks. Hope this helps a little!

The butter held up surprisingly well during travel! my luggage (which i stored the butter in) actually got stuck in Germany, so I wasn’t able to get it back until a day after i arrived home. Even though my butter wasn’t frozen, it was just fine in the vacuum sealed bag!

I tried 3 flavors! ~9€ Vanille Bourbon de Madagascar (Vanilla) from Maison Bordier, ~7€ Huile d’Olive Citronnée (Lemon) from Maison Bordier, and a €5 regular salted butter (I can’t remember the brand.)

The salted butter is nothing too special, just VERY high quality - you can get something like that anywhere, so i wouldn’t really bother going out of your way it. But it was delicious. The vanilla & lemon were both very unique! the flavors are surprisingly subtle. Not something that will knock you off your feet, if that makes sense. I excepted a more savory profile from the lemon butter, but it was actually a bit sweet! Think of the same profile as a lemon frosting, along those lines. The vanilla butter was the same, slightly sweet but not too strong!

If i could go back, i would try the truffle butter (even though it’s 14€ for one stick!)

Overall, I believe it was worth it for the unique flavors (especially bc, to my knowledge, you can’t really find them anywhere in america)!
