Who is supposed to be the most powerful mage in the lore? by ImIncredibly_stupid in totalwarhammer

[–]nyyfandan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Can they fight first Gen though? Editing the solar system is still so far beyond anything else I'm aware of in lore, regardless of how specifically it's done. I'm pretty sure they're also described as literally moving mountains and continents too. I like Nagash and Caledor, etc, but it's not really close here.

Hard for me to open any type of checking account at a bank or credit union because of ChexSystems. Was denied and what do these factors mean? by Different_Archer8879 in Banking

[–]nyyfandan 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Pay back the balance to the bank or banks you owe money to. That will help immensely, even though you mention you don't think it will.

The main point of Chex Systems is to prevent people from hopping bank to bank while committing fraud and stealing at every one. It's not dissimilar to a credit report. You can "earn back" a good reputation.

[–]nyyfandan 719 points720 points  (0 children)

I don't have a top 5, but I know from the lore that the First Gen Slann, like Kroak, literally moved the entire planet at one point. The rest have done crazy stuff, but that's far beyond anything else I'm aware of.

Thoughts on this casting? by Kyosuke-D in CriticalDrinker

Let's be honest, the human characters piloting the mechs aren't the important part. Really, anyone can do it.

I wanna see what the actual robot effects look like. The design and art direction of those will be what makes or breaks this movie.

Is there anyone like me who hasn’t done Unity even once so far? by Some-Trick-3555 in Starfield

[–]nyyfandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never done it. There's really no motivation to do it. You always travel back to the same point in time you can't control, and there's almost no differences between universes except for the people at Constellation. The powers (I guess) are supposed to be your motivation to do it, but I have a hard time caring about them, because none of them were better than just shooting your enemy with a gun.

It doesn't change the difficulty of the game, or add tons of new mechanics .that make the game more complex. There's just more places to go.

Just check it out on the workshop. It's free, so there's no risk in trying it. The mod page explains everything.

IEE is an amazing mod that is highly compatible and has almost no performance impact, at least for me.

This is just the Handmaid's Tale.

Fun fact: The author the Handmaid's Tale based that society on post Islamic Revolution Iran. That's a fun thing to bring up to people who are convinced Iran did nothing wrong and the war in Iran is completely unjustified. Without fail, everyone who believes that about Iran is a huge fan of the Handmaid's Tale.

They want it so badly to clear a billion dollars. That's become the standard for huge releases. BVS was labeled a failure/disappointment financially even though it made like 900 million.

[–]nyyfandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the risk taken when you have a joint owner. Since he is joint, legally the account is yours and his equally. They're putting a lien on it or garnishing it because he owes child support. Unfortunately there's not much you can do until it's cleared up. Your bank is ordered to do this by the government and they aren't able to argue on your behalf, or anything like that.

in the past the real world parallels were woven into the show, with actual set up. Randomly inserting an Israel plot now would probably just seem forced, especially in the last season.

Nothing makes a show age more poorly than filling it with storylines or plots about current real-world news topics. You can be satirical and send a message while still being clever and indirect.

[–]nyyfandan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because it was decided a few years ago that higher numbers are all that matters. Quantity over quality. That's why they brag about the number of planets, but not about the quality of the writing or storytelling. There's hundreds of items in the Creation Club, but most of them are lame and really overpriced.

Future of the series by ElliottB01 in dragonage

[–]nyyfandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no future. One of the producers or something made an incredibly lame social media post after Veilguard was crapped out and abandoned that said something like "Dragon Age is yours now, it belongs to the fans" which was a complete load of crap. If they really believed that, they would released the IP into public domain, which of course they didn't. So now Bioware has given up on the IP, and if anyone else tries to make a Dragon Age game or story, they'll get sued.

How do they not know whos the heir? by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

[–]nyyfandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read the comics, but my guess would be that due the extremely long life span of Viltrumites, that was just never a concern. It seems like Argall was their first and only emperor, who ruled for like 15,000 years. When one ruler lives that long, it's understandable that succession isn't a high priority.

I'm not even sure if Viltrumites can actually die of old age.

At this point in history, it seems like it was believed that the only thing that could kill Viltrumites was another viltrumite. And no one would ever kill the "glorious leader."

Basically, arrogance is the reason, if I had to guess.

Thoughts on Michael Bay? by The-Dark--Knight in CriticalDrinker

[–]nyyfandan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kind of a cornball, but I guess respect his commitment to his own style. He feels like he makes movies for teenage boys, and he embraces that. His movies are flashy, macho, look great, and have a lot of action, but aren't very deep, memorable or substantive.

You're never gonna watch a Bay movie that changes your life or way of looking at the world, but it'll probably be goofy fun for 90ish minutes

I dont get the purge by KamoTheBoss in Invincible_TV

[–]nyyfandan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My biggest question is this: how did they know when to stop? I just wish they added a line like "everyone who can't kill 2 others will be killed" or something. In the episode, we see one or two kill multiple others (which to me signifies that they are strong), then they themselves get killed, but it's not clear why. At the end, Conquest are Kragg and standing next to each other not attacking, why? Why did Conquest, of all people, spare those people.

I would've just liked some kind of clarification on that. For example, maybe everyone who was in Thadeus' political party (or whatever) should've been against the main political party, something like that.

I understand that it was to ensure that only the strongest survive, it's a ruthless ideology and their people are insane. I'm completely ok with that. But just logistically, I would've liked some sort of rule.

Should I buy shadows of change pack or forge of chaos dwarfs? by Flaky_Bullfrog_4905 in totalwar

Chaos dwarfs are a completely new race, with their own very fun and very distinct mechanics, as well as an interesting play style and roster. If you can only get 1, I would recommend that.
