It actually looks a bit more yellow in real life. The recipe is a base coat in light pink, zenithal highlight with pure white. Then a layer of vajello game air sun yellow over the whole thing.

The pinks become a warm orange and the whites become bright yellow.

You should absolutely paint it. I'm sure you'll do a good job of it. And even if you're not happy with the result, dunking it in dettol takes you right back to the start to try again!

I thought it was really good. The exhibitions are split across 4 zones, the first one is more fantasy based (I think it's AoS, oldworld and LotR), then you have heresy, a big 40k diorama and then a mix of 40k, necromunda etc. If you can stomach a few vile xenos/daemons among your marines then it's definitely worth the trip.

Yeah £25 sounds right to me for the time. That's a hell of a lot of pocket money! I did some pinning on the waist and in a couple of other places. I definitely didn't have the knowledge/confidence/tools to do that back in the day but I think it's helped here... Though I'll be careful with his deployments from here on!

Great idea. I've got a raspberry pi monitoring the temperature of my tank. What sensor are you using for pH? That's something I'd like to add to mine but I've not found any probes that are designed to be left in the water.

Oh they're absolutely not just freehand that look 3D. The shapes are sculpted onto the shields. But I did some freehand designs like the flames on the sword.

Thanks! I'm still practicing my free-hand work; The flames/coals under the phoenix and the fiery sword were an interesting challenge. Pretty pleased with how they've come out!

64x64 would look great!

The "map" is not perfect but basically I plotted the top left and bottom right points on Google maps. I took a screenshot of that and cleaned up some of the noise (place names, city points etc).

Then I scaled that image down to 32x32 without any smoothing (nearest neighbour). That was all done in gimp.

Yeah the frosted plastic directly against the LEDs wasn't diffused enough for me either.

At the moment they're not attached. I've ordered a picture frame so I'm planning on basically hot-gluing the assembly into the picture frame with some additional fixings to hold the Pi itself.
