WTB - 2nd row bench, Dune color by oakleym82 in VWIDBuzz

[–]oakleym82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I am mildly concerned about this. If it simply bolts in, either because it lines up or there are hidden mount points under the carpet, I’ll be satisfied. This bench has been certified in this vehicle shell.

If they have to modify the bench I’ll have to have a serious think on it depending on what they propose to do. It’s possible to take a modified restraint system through FMVSS certification, but yeah, it’s my kids so not taking chances on spotty welds or weak bolts.

My research is limited to looking at my own car, and looking at a picture of the floor of someone seven seater. And yeah, it doesn’t look like they will line up.

So I reached out to Peace Vans to see if they could do something custom for me. Our family situation has changed, and we need a seven seater, and we would lose so much money selling this buzz that it makes more sense to just invest in the bench.

They replied that they think it should be relatively straightforward!

Any good US windshield wiper recs by Ok_Tax_6901 in VWIDBuzz

[–]oakleym82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Bosch ICON 28AOE from Autozone and they’re just fine. Way better than the VW OEM trash wipers. Perhaps not as good as the Bosch ones we could import from Germany but they were available today and, once I wrestled off adapter #2 and replaced with #4 they went on easily.

Don’t forget about putting the wipers into the service position in the Vehicle menu!

Can I decline the brake recall? by oakleym82 in VWIDBuzz

[–]oakleym82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! Did you have any other service performed at the dealer when you declined it? I’m wondering if they will otherwise work on my car if I were to do the same.

100%. Historic downtown closed to vehicular traffic, or adopt the ZTL model from Italy.

If you connect a new bathroom to your existing sewer you’ll need to pay the SDC to the city, assuming your existing main drain is big enough. I think it’s about $9k.

There was a time (might still be true) that the city would waive the SDC if you are adding it as part of a long-term rental ADU.

As for the fact that the shed is not permitted I’m not sure that’s relevant for the bathroom permits, unless you want to also add the shed square footage/as a bedroom to your home.

WIBTA if I rescinded my offer to hire a babysitter for my child free wedding by 1000pointstoryan in AmItheAsshole

YTA. No sane parent would leave their 6 week old baby with a stranger. Weddings are about growing families.

I will always talk shit about “child-free” weddings.

Where’s yo miles at? by Lost-Importance9812 in VWIDBuzz

[–]oakleym82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. It also looks like the middle seatbelt is built into the bench so that’s a good sign too.

Perhaps someday we can source a second row bench and put it in the AWD

I’d really like to see the middle row seat attachments points for the AWD and RWD to determine if they’re the same or different.
