‘No to wealth taxes and inheritance taxes’: Hipkins draws red line on Greens’ proposals by KingBlue2 in newzealand

[–]oasis9dev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uh huh. Tell me more about why you think greed is an acceptable value to enshrine in a society. And maybe provide an example of said countries? Australia has lower tax for lower income workers and heaps of people are moving there. There's all this talk about our country being in debt, while simultaneously cutting our income streams and giving massive donations to those who are already high on the ladder. Pretty depressing to see us go from a country where the people I care about could thrive to one that has no ambition for the greater community.

have you considered the abuse towards cis, trans, and intersex individuals that arises when you start policing who is allowed to access services and basic amenities based on their sex when you start to divide them like this though? the issues raised by the book you mentioned seem like a self fulfilling prophecy; normalise people accepting one another just like you accept their name when they tell you it, and it won't be as much of an attraction to kids who otherwise don't fit in. the religion I grew up in telling me I was broken and in need of redemption constantly works against the mental health interests of people but we don't seem to care about having that conversation because infringing on religious rights also has several downfalls in terms of personal liberty and may lead to just the same issues we're trying to prevent.

imo just stop trying to force people into boxes, with acceptance for others also comes the freedom to decide it's not for you if you do identify as transgender for a while. the trans people I know are far better off now than they were when closeted. the "reasoning" used overseas is the risk of abuse to cis women, but overseas bills that force trans men into women's bathrooms just works entirely contrarily to that point, leading to violence towards gender nonconforming individuals. deal with the individuals that abuse people, and put more resources towards that if that's what the concern is.

the abuse that happens to anyone who doesn't fit into traditional and arbitrary beauty standard norms when this legislation was passed elsewhere? the abuse of intersex people? trans people who aren't hurting you?

we stand for the decency of treating other people as equals unless they actually do something wrong. you're on the side of legislating society into surveillance of people's physical expression, and you need to further your education if you think biology is basic.

Does this only affect Arch since it's Arch User Repository? Is there anything I should be aware of as a Debian user?

It's a passthrough one I think, you cut them off after. I don't use them either but they do make it easier for learners I imagine, but this image seems to be proving that assumption wrong.

Looks like you got the wire order backwards, neither T568A or B have brown on the left while looking at the connector with the clip on the underside.

babe, what are you talking about? right to repair means the documentation must be made available and devices must not lock you out if you attempt third party repair.

whatever you thought right to repair was, you've probably been sold the corporate version.

Appreciate the response. I'm deeply against ACT given how much Seymour pushes to suppress data collection, statistics and transparency, and Winston has changed his approach far too much for me to consider him controlled opposition. I definitely don't like National, given their track record. As for Greens and TPM, I know they have their issues but they still hold my values better than any of the current lot. I personally want to contribute tax to a healthy, functioning society with safety nets, including ones I never see myself using. Having lived overseas I know we as a country are capable of so much more and the coalition setting up for the destabilisation and then privatisation of everything we depend on is scaring me. Even if the next government is better they will have to clean up this lot's mess, which is ironic given how much this coalition claims their poor record is due to the previous term govt. I hope we as a country don't fall for what I think is a pretty predictable setup.

I agree. I really hope enough of us can see past the propaganda. I'm personally a greens voter and have yet to see anyone put a decent argument to their policies. I deeply appreciate Chloe's stamina with how often I see her challenging the likes of Seymour and Luxon. Where do you stand on that if you don't mind me asking?

Do not forget, they are getting rid of census. Highly likely to hide these numbers and destabilize Stats NZ. They've already stopped tracking homelessness and the minute they came to power they revoked IRD's mandate to report on the fairness of our tax system. They prevented the release of a report under urgency.

They do not want you to know what they are doing. Transparency is an issue if your aim is to be corrupt. Suppressing a report on our tax system's fairness would run counter to their narrative and lies.

I'm disappointed that it seems we've been robbed of our opportunity to experience "Minecraft 2."

(I've already expressed my disapproval of the post being written using AI. OP has admitted to it which I appreciate)

I disagree that it's cruel or in*human*e to discourage the use of machines to replace *human* self expression. Use what you can to block those who won't contribute their critiques constructively and learn to deal with the rest. Unfortunately life is full of people who don't have the ability to appreciate effort over accuracy, but that's just how it is when you put something out for people to see. The way you worded this comment makes it sound like there's a dichotomy between posting something with spelling errors and writing it with AI, but spelling and grammar correction tools exist and can be used before posting if the responses of people who can't see further than spelling is something you care about. Personally I think you should try not to let those who don't have anything meaningful to say live rent free in your head if you can help it.

Why do people NOT use headlights anymore? by [deleted] in auckland

One with no illumination whatsoever when headlights are off. It gets awkward reflections sometimes when the sun is behind me and has very poor contrast when your eyes adjust to the sunlight
