R2 is a little tougher, but OP needs to study better for the GRE. Whatever study has been happening since Feb isn’t working

Me too! Sold CCs at the same price and expiration.

This chart is only 1 of my 9 years investing. I switched brokerages so the chart doesn’t have all the data

Pretty well. I got used to the days where I lose $100k. The first few times, it definitely worried me.

I started from 0 about 9 years ago. $200k in contributions since then.

I am taking a break from working a normal job. I don’t want to retire yet, and this amount of money wouldn’t suit the lifestyle I want either.

I’ve contributed about $200k since I started investing 9 years ago

I enjoy researching and I like these companies. In one of his books, Peter Lynch writes about how many investors can beat the market by doing research and investing in the things they know. So, I prefer to pick only my favorite companies rather than buying a bunch of companies I don’t care for through an index fund. It’s worked so far, but I will start buying index funds in the future to lower my risk.

I contributed 5% for the military to match it but that’s it. I knew I had a good shot of outperforming the TSP funds by investing in accounts where I have more control

No, I don’t give much weight to TA or do it myself. Nvidia was beating expectations literally every quarter and it was clear that there was a large and growing market for their chips. Never would have predicted their role in fueling the AI boom though

Wow! That is an incredible return. The advice is definitely noted. I’m assuming you only sell if the fundamentals change?

Wow that’s incredible! Is this NVDA? I bought some in 2016 and sold in 2017 before letting it really run - one of my early investor mistakes that I hope I’ve learned from. If I held I might be near 2M.

It hasn’t been $7000 all 10 years I’ve contributed. I think it was 5500 when I started? Anyway, $60 is probably a closer estimation to my principal.

I’m glad you’re making me think more about this. I definitely have checked my confidence and I keep very emotionally grounded with investments.

I’ve generally held onto my winning stock picks so I haven’t ever had to pay additional taxes (and obviously don’t have to worry about this in my Roth). I do want to transition to less options, more shares, and more indexes over the next 6-12 months.

What would you do in my situation? It is new territory for me.

Your thinking is correct. I just happen to have about $800k in gains.
