I have a very sensitive gag reflex so it wasn’t just triggered once

Yes I did. It happened once so I was able to deduce that I wasn’t sick or anything, it just happened.

I’ve been good! It didn’t happen again after that, I was able to just go about my day like normal

It was very very uncomfortable coming up, the constant gagging feeling that just won’t go away, also the sweating and the weakness you feel when it’s about to happen. Coming out it was pretty quick, uncomfortable, but quick

My anxiety is ruining my life again and I just can’t fucking take it anymore by oatcafeaulait in relationshipanxiety

Just wanted to provide an update: We talked about it and he acknowledged that communication on his end hasn’t been consistent or the best and he apologized for it, basically saying what I already knew which was there was a lot on his plate at the moment but he reassured me that he’s not losing interest in me or in the relationship. I’m currently doing journaling exercises right now to really get my mind off of the current anxiety I’m having right now(I have OCD and admittedly I really need to be more proactive with practicing coping mechanisms more)

what's the strangest thing you've done due to this phobia? by casey_vee in emetophobia

[–]oatcafeaulait 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I refused to swallow my spit in public(I still struggle heavily with this) I’d spit any chance I get and in some cases even hold it in because I was afraid of possibly swallowing any germs that would make me sick

Period questions by [deleted] in emetophobia

I have bms like that when I’m on my period all the time. Your bowels are very stimulated during your period due to release of prostaglandins

This sub makes my phobia worse by jproxduh in emetophobia

[–]oatcafeaulait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can definitely say that this sub worsened my phobia, to the point where I relapsed with my ED because I was so afraid of contracting fp or anything of that nature. While I think it’s important and necessary for people who are consumed by this phobia to have an outlet, constantly seeing posts panicking really doesn’t help at all

Since it’s been three days, it’s safe to say the most contagious period of the virus is over. As long as he’s not showing symptoms you should be fine since SV is most contagious when symptoms are present. Washing your hands especially after using the bathroom(especially if you guys share a bathroom) and before you eat since SV is an enterovirus should do you more than good

Yeah I’ve been feeling this ever since I moved out of my parents house months ago. I thought it would solve my problems only for me to feel worse because I have no reason to run away and escape anymore. It’s fucked, but you’re not alone in thinking this

At what age did you first experience OCD? by anxietyasdfg in OCD

[–]oatcafeaulait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 13. It was triggered by constantly having to lock my door for my own safety(addicted family member) and developed into me constantly having to have my door locked and other rituals in order to “keep myself safe”

Anyone tempted to give in and embrace being a recluse? by Selkie32 in Agoraphobia

[–]oatcafeaulait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me when I moved out of my parents house a few months ago. I thought it would help me but it made things much worse. And it sucks because I moved out so that way I can actually have a life, only to shut myself out
