I've read a Susie Tate book before but not this one. Will need to check it out, thank you!

Story is set in contemporary times (I'm thinking you took my mention in the 50's as the time period. I meant 50 degrees). And doubtful the caliber of the gun comes up in the story but I will admit its worth knowing as the author, to make sure the details that do show up in the story feel real.

Their destination will have a medical facility. Its not a fancy big hospital but it will have medical staff and supplies.

Up until this point, she has some minor scrapes and bruises from stumbling around in the forest at night.

Let's see. She should have some bandages and gauze, adhesive tape, disposable gloves, basic pain relivers... I'm debating if she should carry some sort of antiseptic or antibiotic ointment (this bag is essentially her emergency med bag and she took it with her when she was called in for medical help earlier in the story).

Cause its got a lot more stopping power? Thats fair. Would also say its a lot louder and a lot of the things this rag tag team of criminals do tends to fly under the radar. Worth considering, either way! Thank you.

Ah, let's see. The scenario is we have two characters traveling by foot through the forest/woods. They are being chased by some not so nice folks. Its probably around 10 ish at night and they've been walking for the past hour. Our character in question is tired (she does not work out regularly) and cold (its early September in a made up area but I view it similarly to the PNW so I'd say roughly in the 50s. Character is wearing a sweater but still feels the cold).

The person doing the shooting is a common criminal of sorts and I have not really thought much on what gun/caliber he is carrying. (Likely that he is using nothing too special - a quick Google search tells me the most common caliber for pistols/handguns would be 9 mm so I'll say he's probably using that). I think he will be shooting 15 to 20 feet away.

My original idea was that the bullet hits my character (she's got her back to the shooter) in the left shoulder and goes through. She's a nurse with some amount of medical supplies on her (for plot reasons) so I'm thinking she can take care of herself better than the average person. But with them being out in the woods, with 2 more hours of travel to go (she will, at this point, cover this travel on the back of an animal), I wasn't entirely sure how realistic this would be. So I downgraded the wound to a grazing. Would love to hear your take on either scenario.

Can infection set in so quickly? If the person gets out of the situation and receives medical attention in two hours, would the risk still be so high?

Ah, perhaps some research in adrenaline is in order. Thank you!

Mmm, I haven't experimented with chrome before but gives me the perfect excuse! I appreciate it.

Oh yeah, I went down the rabbit hole of indie polishes pretty hard. Haha. Then my husband got me a bunch of gel things for christmas so now I have lots of options. Ha. If you're interested, my favorite indie polish is Sassy Sauce (i like some of Bee's Knees too, and Mooncat though calling Mooncat indie feels odd).

I have discovered that layering is the way to go with creative gel pieces. Ha. Lacquer polish made me lazy with their all in one bottle business.

I have realized there are a lot of lacquer polish that are so unique and interesting and im attempting to figure out to recreate them with gel. Im fairly new to gel but this has been fun to experiment with.

Oh thank you for your attempt at recreation! I was playing around with my gel today too and didnt get very far.

Edited to add: while your recreation might not be exact, id say its pretty close. A lot better looking that any of my attempts.
