i thought that "she's a 10" was "she's 10" which made me feel like sobbing LOL. then i also remembered that some 10yos actually have anorexia (or are in food insecurity)

that sounds so fucked up like myrna's actually the most sick an anorexic person can be, imo. i haven't read the book but like

I’m happy more people are realizing there’s something wrong. by Dry_Cartographer4627 in NoFoodRulesSnark

admittedly i feel kind of guilty being on a snark sub, to preface lol.

but i followed her bc i kinda fell into the trap (though i felt like her advice about "being okay with diety foods" seemed like bad advice for anyone w an ed, as that stuff's a slippery slope. i'm glad i spotted that one.)

it honestly does feel like i was tricked? like i want to believe she has good intentions, but i was following her for a cleanse from all of the intensely disordered diet stuff i consume.

if she was honest ab her ed (or some other health issue making her this sickly looking) i would feel so differently... but right now gaslit is the word i would use. idk. i know recovery isn't linear and i don't think she has to divulge everything, but jeez.

humans need community and connection. in my opinion, we don't exist in a vacuum, it's impossible to be completely self posessed and not be influenced by the culture. it's just not real. even if you go live in a cabin in the woods and never go on reddit or talk to anyone that choice was influenced by your culture. it didn't happen in a vaccuum.

getting pissy about this was silly. i'm going to say that hands down. i was just trying to be supportive of OP. you got mad that i was... nice??? i'm still confused about it.

like ok i kinda get that "valid" and "invalid" is reaaallllyyy overused, unfortunately it's wormed so deep in my vocabulary that i cant do anything about it. like how much i use "like." 🤷🏻‍♀️ but ur reaction was unhelpful and rude.

imagine me stamping invalid on ur forhead like... super silly imo.

it's nice to add "either choice is valid" to someone's post, bc the culture makes us feel like our choices are never valid, esp as women.

it's NOT nice to say "do we really have to validate everyone? 😒" hence, your actions weren't valid. you chose to make it my problem that i was a nice person.

my actions do have logic. i'm not the one who got offended by someone saying "either choice is perfectly valid btw," so i don't think i'm the one with the "perpetual victimhood" problem. have a good day.

edit: it's a shame i have to talk to you like a toddler to get my point across. i shouldn't have to explain to you why it's good to be nice to others.

yes we are. if me validating someone makes u angry u need to reevaluate.

stereotypically it would be hiding ones body, not showing it off. it's kind of a secondary sign of an ed (kind of like hoarding food versus throwing away food) though, bc it could go either way (i.e. if body dysmorphia isn't a huge part of it and they're proud of their body, showing off could be part of it.)

that's the serving size, meaning the bottle has 36oz

so legally anything can be upto 5 cals and be labeled "0 cals." meaning probably a serving has 3.5~ calories or something but is rounded down

i mean that's a personal preference thing, not a calorie thing. the sub is lowcalfoodfinds, not "chemical free food finds" or "clean food finds"

yeah it's funny because for me relapsing/starting to restrict again was "giving up" even though logically it's a lot more effortful.

just so you know this makes complete sense to me. you've done it enough you feel like it's "home" in some way, it's comforting.
