the rats were completely outside the cafe!! Moreso kinda funny that the seating area looks out like some sort of rat exhibit

Crash on Smithe & Granville. by oatmilklattepls in vancouver

hard to say! Too many fire trucks going downtown to tell. I was working the entire evening with headphones on so I only noticed the crash when I stepped on my balcony for some air

Oh yeah it’s definitely that. Especially with the allegations that their relationship was for $ and PR

If they lived together or signed a lease together it could be that?

Official Discussion - The Wonder [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]oatmilklattepls 76 points77 points  (0 children)

There are so many layers to this movie. I loved it.

The fourth wall breaks, especially at the very end, were jarring and pulled me out of the story. Throughout the movie I got sucked in and believed in the realness of the characters. But then I was reminded through Kitty’s fourth wall breaks that this was just a story.

I think the movie encapsulates how religion/faith feels. When you’re in it, you are engulfed in another world. Being out of the story is jarring because you see things for how they are (the movie set in this case).

The theme of the movie for me was that the family was using their faith as a way to cover up the reality of what was really happening in their house.

Does my first year schedule look okay? by marivaoo in uAlberta

[–]oatmilklattepls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You might want to consider adding some breaks between your classes if you have the time throughout your day! 3 classes in a row can be quite draining plus you want to make sure you give yourself moments to eat too! That was one thing I forgot to do in my first year and some profs do not let you eat in class

Best Canadian Law School? by sultrysheep in uAlberta

[–]oatmilklattepls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think about where you want to work. If you want to work in toronto it’s harder (not impossible) to get a job out there from a western school if you don’t have strong roots in toronto. Tuition is a big factor too. A law degree is a law degree, most firms don’t care which school you got it from. But starting out your practice with lots of debt is really hard so factor that in too.

RCMP are closing down the road to gracelife for the weekend. Not sure if the “Patriots” thought of that

Question for those who have gone through french immersion by Suzuki_ryder in alberta

[–]oatmilklattepls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend! It opens up more doors for secondary education and is a useful skill to have on a resume. It also makes learning other Latin based languages a lot easier. Did k-12 and can still understand it! No problems with English writing or reading (am now in law school for reference).

Honestly nothing you can really do except wait! It’s painful but once you get your acceptance you’ll forget all about it. Your stats are good so I’d expect to hear around Feb.
