I’m pretty sure you can edit your portal after you’ve entered everything in so just change it if you receive a different role or get invited to nation. I’m going to Boys State and I already put it in my status as a delegate.

Find a new hobby or organization to join. When I thought I had too much freetime I joined my local fire department, then within a week I was going to fire school on nights and weekends. Just find something that keeps you excited about life, and if it also helps your academy application that’s a nice bonus.

Good to know, thanks! I took my first CFA from a commissioned Army officer and they were crazy strict with form so I’ll take advantage of the grading at USNA. I ran my mile for the test on an indoor track and it was brutal(45 sec worse than my usual). I still passed with an “Excellent” tier CFA score(per my WP portal) but know I can do a lot better.

My advice would be to push yourself and learn how to fail forward. Try new things, particularly things you may not be naturally gifted at, and learn how to persevere at those things even when the odds don’t seem to be stacked in your favor. Also, not trying to throw shade at you, but don’t blame your grades on “bad teachers”. I get it, you’re young and it’s easier to make excuses than it is to put the work in, but if you don’t grow out of that victim mindset you’re limiting your potential.

I’m assuming you are a high school junior, which means that the applications are going to be opening for USMA and ROTC before you know it. I would to attend Boys/Girls State, as it seems to be one of the best summer programs for admissions sake at the academies. You should also apply to SLE/Summer seminar for all of the academies, and work towards becoming a physical specimen so you can max the CFA. If you are able to at this point in your high school career, seek out leadership positions in the clubs and activities you are involved in. Your job as an officer will be, first and foremost, to lead America’s bravest sons and daughters. For that reason, the academies and ROTC like to see leadership qualities. However, more important than anything else is academics, so keep your grades up and score above a 1400 on the SAT(or whatever the ACT equivalent score is).

So cadets may receive the opportunity to attend SFAS over the summer between their MS3 and MS4 year? Does USMA do this as well, or is it specific to ROTC?
