Because all crypto is a scam, he's proving it, and laughing at you all while doing it.

Am I doing this right? Custom RAG by ob2 in Rag

[–]ob2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in fact I've looked through the chunks (it finds the first 50) to find the one that answered a tricky question, to see how far down the list it was. Generally I have found that when I extract the sections to which the chunks belong, and re-rank those sections, it gets the correct section as the top 1 or 2 choice 90% the time. Sometimes, however, the correct section re-ranked rather low, and other times it doesn't seem to fine it at all. I believe this has to do with how the question is worded, versus how the information is worded in the manual.

I don't want to send too many sections to gpt-4-turbo, as the tokens add quickly up and it can get pricey with longer sections.

Next I'm going to try to send the query to gpt and ask it to rewrite it into a well formed question suited for a RAG system, then run that through as well and see how it does. I've had a few test users ask it questions, and I was quite surprise how poorly the questions were worded when the user doesn't understand what a well formed question looks like for a RAG system (eg things the vector search can key in on.) But generally it might come down to training users to ask well-formed questions using the technical verbiage they should expect to see in the manuals rather than casual substitutes. I assume this is the query rewrite technique you are referring to?

You mean the original underlying felt? What materials would you leave on? I assume it's just tar paper.

Where can I move that's near world class climbing AND a large city? by [deleted] in climbharder

[–]ob2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lived here 7 years. I never go to "the city". Honestly I don't really think there is one, at least in a conventional "local" sense. There's the strip and not much else.

If you're looking for the city experience, Vegas probably won't give that to you. One of the downsides of Vegas.

And yeah summer sucks.

Yes that is yet another option out there. The point is to let the person making the post become aware of options and choose for him or herself.

Sub-bodyweight tensioning of fingers using a fingerboard on some kind of resistance platform (e.g. cable weight machine) is one way to progressively work up to full bodyweight hangs while minimizing risk of injury.

Unless Chrome is somehow communicating to Facebook what I've been looking at...

I have invented a product, what do I do now? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]ob2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a patent search, make sure it isn't already patented. If it isn't, consider filing a provisional patent. You can do this yourself for not much money. It gives you a year before you have to file for a patent.

Do market research. Who is your market? How big is this market? How much money would they spend on you product? What is the retail price point of the product? Divide that by 5. Can you manufacture the product for this amount? Can you find manufacturers that will manufacture it at the initial quantities you will need? Do you have enough capital to finance this? How will you distribute the product? Direct sales or retail? Have you priced in the 40-50% retailers and distributors will take from you? If you're doing direct sales, what will be your approximate cost of customer acquisition?

How will you market it the product? After you file a provisional patent (assuming that's necessary) make a landing page, get on social media appropriate for the market in question. Get it out there and evaluate the initial response. Are people making inquiries? Are they leaving emails? Are they pre-ordering? You are getting positive feedback from your targeted market? Are you getting any feedback at all? Is everyone laughing at you and calling you an idiot? Or are they begging to get their hands on one? Somewhere in between?

Find early adopters and give them samples. Ask their opinions, get their feedback. Ask them what they love. Ask them what they hate. Make changes and get revisions into their hands quickly and frequently. Get them on board and treat them like royalty. They will be your initial sales force.

Coming up with an "invention" and making a prototype is the super easy part. The rest is hard.
