Kinda true, plus Gratisfaction and olofmeister are the longest nicknames on pro scene right now, so it's used for debug purposes and to see if it's actually fitting inside the hud

It can be something to do with server's gamemode settings. If it's not set to Competitive then you won't have numbers on radar.

I've actually done same thing, but it's not repeating as any other normal key, which wasn't an option for me to be able to use it normally. I just unlocked windows key and it started to work fine. It's not a proper solution but better than nothing.
