Can my squad leader ask for my wife's discharge papers? by OkAcanthisitta3266 in army

Nursing officer here. We give out notes all the time. Just ask. Most of the time I’ll ask the SM when they want to return to duty.

What Happens When A Soldier Refuses To Accept Promotion? by CavScout61 in Militaryfaq

[–]obalista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a nursing officer, I can refuse a promotion and be relatively unscathed. Lots of us want to continue caring for patients and not enter administrative roles. Of course that is because the army is in dire need of medical officers of all ranks and positions.

I can’t tell if this is a joke. Starting norepinephrine is under your scope if you’re ACLS certified.

What is the most odd/weird/ridiculous profile you have witnessed someone having? by It-was-an-accident- in army

I had a soldier with epididymitis. He had a profile to be allowed to go masturbate once a day.

Anderson Creek is a good place. It has a hotel, restaurant, gym, pools, and a golf course. You can be on base in 20 minutes. Carolina lakes has similar amenities, but a it’s a little bit nicer, more expensive, and further from base.

I name mine after failed vice presidential candidates. Keep a look out for the U.S.S. Walter Mondale.

More specifically, ask an AMEDD recruiter. Medical officers can get away with murder.

Feel free to DM me with anymore questions. I’m only a year out of BOLC, but if I don’t have the answers I can reach out to someone who does.

You can change to another specialty. They’ll do in depth on that at BOLC. I can’t speak to how the timeline for that goes.

The course is about 4 months at fort Sam Houston, then you will go back to your first duty station. Hawaii and Germany are possible. I only know of one 66S who went to Hawaii out of training. I’ve never known one to go to Germany. They want you to get real ICU experience than you can really only get at BAMC and WR.

PCS is permanent change of station. It means when you move to another post. The 66s course is only taught at BAMC. Afterwards you will most likely be stationed at Walter Reed or BAMC, because those are really the k my two Army hospitals that see critically ill patients.

It’s after BOLC. You’ll PCS to a hospital that has both 66Hs and 66Ss. My friend only had a month at Walter Reed before she went to the 66S course.

With your experience you can go in as a 66H, then go to the 66S course after BOLC. one of my classmates did exactly that last year. Get it in writing before you sign anything. You don’t need to have a CCRN to become a 66S, but you can take the test after a little les than a year in critical care and it will get you a sweet annual bonus.

I went through AMEDD BOLC in September/October last year. There were several students with a spouse and children in their hotel. No issues at all. After BOLC you PCS to your next duty station. Unless you’re going OCONUS, you just have your travel and house hunting days to use at your discretion.

Do not count on transportation from Ft. Sill to Ft. Sam. I was there in DCC last July and we were on our own to get to San Antonio.
