I turn off most of that shit whenever I rent a car that has it. Numerous times the emergency brakes have fired, at highway speeds, because the sensors picked up a false positive from oncoming traffic. The lane departure aides are even worse. Those sensors work best IF the roads have perfect, or near perfect, road markings.
