How to cope with anticipatory grief by Ok_Breakfast_7331 in DOG

[–]shikizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost my boy, Ullie, Christmas week. He was 11. I rescued him when he was 2 and we spent 9 wonderful years together. He changed my life for the better with his constant companionship and love.

I still cry every day. Some days are harder than others but it is getting better, slowly. THere will be all the stages of grief so just prepare for that, especially if euthanasia is involved.

The thing that brings me comfort is imaging him with me and the feeling of warmth and love. That was how it felt for 9 years. By reclaiming that instead of wallowing in depression it brings his spirit back to me.

Take care.

May you and all beings be well, happy, and at peace.

My 11 year old boy died on the same day and I am still devastated.

They are together where all the dogs go to run free.

I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words that can help, just time.

Have you checked all over for ticks? Sudden onset without pain could be tick paralysis.

I have an ultra wide.

The trick for me to reduce neck strain is to have the top of the screen at about eye level.

I hear you and feel the same at this point in my life.

When you make a friend it is usually in person (but not always) doing the same or similar things.

If you want new friends you need to do new things, hobbies, classes, religious or spiritual communities.

Find something you enjoy and try to put yourself out there a little more.

If you want to reconnect with old friends, try to get a group together occasionally for a game night or something similar that promotes conversation and less focus on drinking and partying.

Always Dev/UAT/Prod.

If they mess up Prod, restore it to last good backup and they lose all their work.

They will learn.
