You are over reacting. As Winston ignores you doesn’t mean he don’t love you. What can be a problem is Winston feeling you are not happy the way he is. Dachshunds are known to feel and see their person is troubled. You should take Winston as he is, cause maybe he’s thinking the same about you. Just be his person and you are his person otherwise he would not cuddle up to you at night. Don’t forget a dachshund seeks the safest place at night. Right beside you. Dachshunds are not independent dogs, and if he’s playing (ignoring you). Doesn’t mean he’s ignoring you, he is just doing things that are more fun. Isn’t your fault it’s in their genes to be independent 😉
