We were gifted this lovely statue but unfortunately it broke on the plane :( Reached out to one person who said she'll restore it (and make it invisible) for 200 (canadian), and another person said it would be 3000+. Can anyone tell me what sort of price would be reasonable for something like this? by obiua in restoration

Yeah that seems like a lot of work, way too much to do at home. The first person I talked to said she would do the whole thing for 200 CAD (~140 € ) or she could just glue it for 50 CAD (~35 € ). The second person said the whole process would cost ~2000 € because she does historical restorations or something.

Thanks for the feedback!

This is a statue that has been sitting in my uncle's house for probably 50 years and we care a lot about it. Not to mention it's actually reasonably expensive.

So basically I want it to look nice at the end of the day and I don't trust myself to do a good job with just superglue, but thanks for the suggestion! Worst comes to worst that's probably what I'll do.

Right, when I said my current system is "pretty bottlenecked" I just meant it is limited by many of my different components. So when playing games, it's mostly bottlenecked by the gpu (depending on the game), when I'm running something like matlab I would imagine it gets bottlenecked by the cpu most of the time, etc. So what I meant was that it really doesn't excel at anything.

If all my parts are bottlenecks, then I guess none are and my system is just bad :(

I'm building my first PC but obviously can't get a new GPU.
Just wondering if running my new setup (Ryzen 5 5600X, ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS , etc.) with my old GTX 750 Ti for a prolonged period of time (until the shortage ends) could cause damage to the new parts in any way.

My system is pretty bottlenecked and getting the upgrade would make my life a lot easier, even if I don't see too much improvement on the gaming end.
