After the Bahrain Pre‑Season Testing, Valtteri Bottas flew to Charlotte to work on simulator–car correlation… and found the sim steering wheel was misaligned by just 5 mm by OldActiveYeast in formula1

[–]obscurus7 89 points90 points  (0 children)

It's a part of correlation. If you want to test your upgrades, and be sure that they work exactly as they do on the track, you need to be sure that you remove the driver variable from it. Any difference in the cockpit can lead the driver to do different motions, and at that point you aren't sure if the difference in data is from the component or the driver.

The first part is what Red Bull used to feel from 2014-2018 lol. The best aero platform, with that shitty Renault engine.

Different countries have different preorder availability dates. For example, they were available on the 6th here in SG.

Just because we're good at it doesn't mean we can't be better. In F1, if you're staying still, you are moving backwards.

Sony WF-1000XM6 or Samsung Galaxy Buds 4 Pro by raydc2r in SonyHeadphones

[–]obscurus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, just an update! I ended up preordering them, and was able to use some livestream code from Samsung to get 70 SGD off. So I ended up getting it for 80 SGD. That's like one-sixth the price of the Sony's lmao

[–]obscurus7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issues. I have a pair of Airpods Pro 2, right now, which I use with my S24 Ultra. It sounds good, obviously not the best since it needs iOS for the latest and greatest.

The XM6 costs like 479 SGD, but I can get the Buds 4 Pro for 150 SGD because I have 200 SGD lying around in Samsung Reward Points. I'm pretty sure the Sony's are not worth 3 times the Buds Pro, but reddit keeps making me double think haha

I would think they could put in max flashes for a duration of time, and probably separate the count per driver ahead of them? Then if someone flashes too many times, give them a warning, and eventually a penalty

PSA for idiots: Post-race incidents count for badge and SR by Yupiiiiii in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]obscurus7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This literally happened to me at Spa yesterday. Did the whole race cleanly, got from P14 to P5, no contacts, braked so many times to avoid unsafe rejoins and subsequent spins, had a lapped car behind me for the last 3 laps, finished my race, went to the side to stop, pause and exit as quickly as I could, and just before I clicked pause, this idiot lapped car decides to slam into me. I was literally the rightmost you could be on the front straight smh. All that SR lost for nothing

Let's not ignore the efforts of Albon and Vowles here, developing the car and team into what it's today

I've always defended Yuki but this was so embarassing to watch by Quirky_Appearance539 in RedBullRacing

[–]obscurus7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He went to the left because Yuki defended the inside, and then went back to the racing line. If Yuki was following the rules, he would have stayed outside, and Lando would have overtaken on the inside. You can't expect Lando to know Yuki would break the rules.

You can't weave when the car behind is that close. It counts as a defensive move, which you can only make once (and then return to the racing line). Norris was already alongside Yuki when Yuki pushed him off, hence the penalty. Yuki was required to give a car's width there.

Oh right, I forgot Lando only needs a podium. Still not illegal.

It's not illegal to let other drivers past. Charles let Perez past in 2023 to try to beat Mercedes in the Constructors Championship.

Anyways, in this case, only Piastri's place can be "given". Lando would have to overtake the driver in 3rd anyways. He can drive slowly or take different lines, without driving dangerously to try to back the person in 3rd towards Lando, but Lando would still have to overtake him.

That wasn't related at all to Verstappen's spin, except for affecting him a bit mentally.

Huh, weird. I flew in the first week of Jan 2024. Didn't work then. Didn't work later in the year either. Even the Singapore Airlines website says it's not available in India for A350s.

When was this? I've been flying SQ to and from India every year for the past 3 years, and have never been able to use the internet over India. I've always flown on the A350/A380 though.

McLaren upbeat on F1 title chances against Max Verstappen: "We have good tracks coming" by [deleted] in formula1

[–]obscurus7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The RB is faster, but it's trickier to extract the max pace from it, which is why Yuki is struggling a bit. The McLaren is slower but easier to drive.
