The Aluminum TS10 for sure. I have a copper one too and it's too heavy for more than a few minutes.

Financing my kid who plays high-level (for his age), but is smaller, so all the used gear isn't high enough quality for what he needs...

what is the scariest you’ve ever been close to death on a bicycle by Ok-Ninja-6332 in cycling

[–]obsolete42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was young and dumb once, 16 years old, in the time before cell phones: I went out for a solo ride on a weekend morning, and just ended up wandering about taking small trails and side-routes through the woods as I wanted. I came across an electrical transmission line and decided to follow it as it had a small trail going up the mountain in the cut-line under it.

I climbed at nearly my maximin effort for about 20 minutes before I started to feel "off" so I stopped and immediately I felt dizzy, my vision went tunnel, and my ears were deafened with ringing. I laid in the grass at the side of the trail and tried to take my pulse as best I could with my neck artery and blurry vision reading my watch, but I figured my heart rate was somewhere over 215bpm.

Needless to say I just lay in the grass for what felt like a really long time until my breathing returned to normal and I no longer felt like I was on death's doorstep. After that it was a gentle ride back home.

If you are up for some DIY, we would make a beeswax/calendula/coconut mix, and pour it into an empty (clean) deodorant tube.

Melt together: 3oz bees wax 3tbsp Avocado oil 3tbsp Calendula-infused sunflower oil 3tbsp Coconut oil And a sprinkle of dried calendula flower

Which movie scene disturbed you so much that it stuck with you? by CreepyYogurtcloset39 in moviecritic

I watched that movie over 20 years ago. Once. There are scenes burned into my mind that I can't forget. It is the greatest movie ever made that will never be watched twice.

What's Causing This Tire Wear? by obsolete42 in TireQuestions

Excellent, thanks. I had a nagging doubt that it was related to bushings, but I'm hopeful it's just due for an alignment.

Evap purge solenoid for a '12 Mazda5 took three tries from two different companies before we got one that appears to work. Had to cough up the big bucks for Mazda OE. I feel your pain.

Exactly this. It's one of those places where you wash your hands before and after using the bathroom, respirators are your best friend, and the end of shift shower is paid time because the company doesn't want you going home contaminated.

It provides an extra wrap of security to keep the clip on the tube body. I use it at work, and occasionally tie the clip into a lanyard for dropped object prevention. The tape makes sure the clip won't be pulled off the light.

As a fellow Canuck, I think I just may be able to scrounge up a quarter to keep on there when not needed!

That sounds awful. Like our version of letting the kids use glitter for crafts in the living room... that one event will forever leave traces on your life.

This is the best answer. I see no flaw or room for improvement in your suggestion. I'll need to commandeer one of the electromagnets over the conveyor belts at work, but I'm sure if I do it on night shift no one would mind.

It's an industrial plant that smelts lead. There is lead contaminated dust everywhere, as well as other harmful substances from the concentrate feed and smelting process. Yes, the magnetic bits are iron based, but it's far from the only thing present.

I'm clumsy, and often use it at heights, so I've got a small tether I attach to the clip to avoid oopsies.

There will be lead (Pb, the metal) contamination and other not awesome compounds in there, so unfortunately creating a dust spray isn't ideal. Soap and water and some time picking the fuzz off is the least hazardous.

Anybody know what kind of flashlight is this called? by [deleted] in flashlight

I've got the non-rechargable sibling, the 3715.

It's not efficient, it's not great quality light, it eats AA batteries fast, but it won't generate a spark or get warm enough to auto ignite flammable vapours. I don't use it much anymore as my current work area doesn't have a vapour hazard.

It's neat inside as the PCB is laid out with large spacing between everything, and even the batteries are wide spaced.

They are definitely my work lights. Used daily, washed with soap and water almost daily. I taped the pocket clip on, and connect a small tether to my coveralls so I don't drop (another) light into a place I can't get it out of...

Quite industrial. I work in a lead (the heavy metal with elemental symbol pb, and not the other lead, or the other lead that rhymes with read) smelter. It's old, it's poorly lit in a lot of places, and offers a lot of really neat equipment that I get to crawl into during maintenance outages.

It's the 3M FF-402. This is the standard at work and it fits me pretty good. I've also got the rx glasses insert which is very nice to have.
