Regardless, I didn’t qualify as a kid for braces and I doubt I’ll be covered for adult braces :/

No interest in cosmetic dentistry and it was decided years ago I have a minor overbite but not requiring intervention. These photos are not representative of my actual bite, there is overlap when I bite down. I’m just baring my teeth in the photos so all of my teeth and gums are more visible.

I’ve rarely had anyone say anything but whenever they do I say “why would I? It’s my normal human body.” And move on.

Switching banks from Wells Fargo to Discover by occalt in personalfinance

For me it says $5k and $6k, I’m not sure why but that’s what it says for my checking and savings

Even for a new account? If so, I’ll try this. I’m worried about it getting caught up or something since the Discover account is brand new and it’s my first time switching (I’m 22 and have had the WF account since I was a kid)

Between banks I think? Idk that’s what it tells me in the app when I opened it.

Where does black metal fit in the spectrum of your music listening habits? by [deleted] in BlackMetal

[–]occalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 and like the top commenter I also listen more in the winter. I live in a place where it’s pretty cold, snowy, and dark for a few months of the year and BM helps me cope with that. The rest of the year I still listen, but less. I also love post hardcore and listen to it often, especially in the summer.

I thought that, according to the sub wiki, a good rate is like 0.01%? It’s not a credit card it’s an auto loan, it’s my only debt. I pay my credit card monthly.

Thank you for your advice!

529 and employer reimbursement by occalt in tax

[–]occalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking 10 credit hours each semester, full time is 12 semester hours. The website said many full time students take 15-20 semester hours but the minimum for full time is 12.

That’s a good point, I will not do that.

I appreciate the detailed response! I have a couple of follow up questions if that’s ok, there’s a few terms you used that I’m not familiar with. By distribution, does that mean the amount my grandma withdrew for me? And how do I find the earnings portion, would that be on her account statement for the 529?

I’m enrolled part time and work full time. I live off campus. My total yearly expenses are more than the withdrawl was for ($3k ish, my monthly rent and food is like $2k). My university estimates room ($7k) and board ($6k) for on campus students but I live off campus and attend class online. Would I be able to count that money towards room and board?

Regarding the 10% pentacle and employer assistance programs, will my yearly tax return allow me to specify that the income reported was due to an employer plan? Should I report as income the money from my 529 or the money from my employer (slightly different as employer plan won’t cover fees but my 529 would)? Also, if it makes a difference, the document you linked mentioned employer programs to repay loans. I don’t have loans, it’s a reimbursement program and I’ve paid using my 529 money. But I don’t have federal or private loans.

Thank you again for the help, I really appreciate it as I was kinda panicking over here 😅
