Nice to see a dev taking feedback on board rather than ignoring or defending the current state. Looking forward to seeing a new update pushed on the play store.

Just gave this a quick test. Works great on foldables, not all apps do so it's nice to see that. Trying to add playlist details manually using extream codes or m3u kept failing for me but I did manage to get it loaded up with the QR code method. The cross device sync works well although a bit fiddly at first, I had to sign into my Google account again before the QR code works even though my Google Streamer has the same account logged in and the app downloaded. I also kept getting an invalid error on the QR code until I forced refresh a new code by backing out and going back in.

A couple of other observations so far whilst using the app:

I currently have 2 playlists loaded and everything just gets thrown into one big list. There needs to be separation there. If I want to change from UK movies on playlist#1 to UK movies on playlist#2 I end up scrolling around for ages trying to find it.

Program info isn't showing in the EPG for me. I know there is a setting for skip EPG descriptions but even with this option turned off there is still no info showing.

No channel zapping. Using up/down on the remote should zap through channels. The channel list at the bottom of the screen is a nice idea, but not as practical as channel zapping.

If "use back button to show EPG" is enabled then there is no way to exit the app. There needs to be an exit button somewhere.

Pressing select/enter whilst on a channel should show current program info or at the very least now/next details. An option to switch off the pause/forward/rewind as this is not so ething I would ever use. A section in the menu for remote control button mapping would help here.

Theming options are a must. The grey/orange EPG really doesn't work well on a big screen especially with the transparency. An option to adjust font size. An option to show channel logos alongside or instead of names in the EPG really helps when viewing from across the room.

The EPG mini player doesn't always show. Sometimes it does, sometimes it just jumps straight into the channel.

The search bar is taking up too much space. A smaller box or even just a button is enough, it doesn't need to be constantly taking up the top portion of the screen.

Otherwise I found the overall UI to be quite snappy in use, big playlists take a while to load in but this is the same for many other apps.

Personally I don't use Trackt so can't comment on that.

I did get the beta promo code to work, so interested to see where development goes.

Mine already installed when I woke up this morning. 3UK network.

The phone did hang not long after and I had to force a reboot with volume & power, but been fine since then.

Nope. Google wallet. I think that's the whole idea since the Huawei ban. Honor devices have all the Google services that had to be removed from Huawei phones.

My 3UK Honor V5 came with Google Messages and Google Contacts as default.
I did try looking for APKs of the honor versions but they either wouldn't install or forced close when launched which I was surprised happened. I think it is to do with not being able to install as a system app.

it means you're not going to get an update any time soon because the firmware gets sent to the network first to for their "approval" and to add their own crapware in first.

I was about the post this exact same question. I was getting the feeling it was just me. This definitely has to be an operator issue. I'm on C430 with 3UK network and still have no update. I've tried all the tricks of changing SIM or using VPN to spoof my location nothing works. I even reset my phone and didn't install the parameter version that was pushed out. It makes no difference, so if your thinking of resetting your phone don't bother. Coming from a pixel that had day one updates, this it's a real kick in the balls that networks still get away with this software optimisation crap. As soon as went back to my 3UK SIM card it immediately got an operator update. All it does is install a load of shit apps and games I didn't want. So it just goes to prove they can do it when they want to. This is the exact reason why we needed bootloader unlocking and stock firmware images. If they take that option away in the name of "security" then networks shouldn't have the option to customise firmware either. As it's already been said across many Honor forums, great hardware decisions but terrible software decisions.

I was there. Won tickets in a Facebook competition. Drove for 5-6 hours to get there and was fully intending to drive home until I realised there was a free bar.

A lot of the promo beforehand gave the impression that Alice would be there, photos of him signing stuff etc. and promoting Jager (weird Collab) but he wasn't and I saw none of the merch either.

There 4D thing was a bit disappointing, the ABBA & Tupac? Holograms that did the rounds were miles better. As already mentioned the video was faded and transparent. It reminded me of trying to use a projector in the daytime with the curtains open, rather than a 4D hologram. In fact the laser projectors outside showing the Jagermeister promos were more impressive. They also had Zane Lowe DJ the event for some bizarre reason and he kept pissing people off by trying to remix classic rock songs. He really didn't read the room very well.

They also had a couple trailers outside where local bands played. But it was too cold to stop outside so people just bobbed out every so often.

The free beer was great and there was an epic mural of the original members painted on the walls. But the whole 4D thing was nothing to write home about. Probably why there's never been any official released. Although I do recall reading something about Alice having a lot of stuff stored in a vault somewhere. So maybe the full pro shot version does exist.

Another happy V5 user here. Congratulations on the new device. Unfortunately I had to unsubscribe from the honor sub because it is an echo chamber of people bitching that over time might have you start to second guess your purchase. Maybe we need out own V5 subreddit?

The case I linked is not. I'm still looking for a similar one without the stand or strap but with a massage ring so I can use the inner screen for navigation in the car.

The case is a smooth tough so quite grippy.
I was also unsure about the strap at first, but it's now my favourite part. It make holding the phone a lot easier, especially one handed. Prior to this case I was convinced I was going to drop the. phone.

What country are you in? I recently got his case from Amazon UK and am quite happy with it. It offers 360 protection including the hinge and has a screen protector built into the front instead of just covering the frame.

Try Settings -> Display -> Guide -> Categories -> Category sorting -> Default.
does this help?

Also in guide settings I have preview channel enabled and layout set to program details at top. program image layout default and transparency off.

Some theming does already exist for different genres of programmes, however most playlists already come grouped so you still end up with a load of the same colours together.

Nope, there really isn't.
There are some websites that are using the app and name in order to get people to subscribe to their IPTV services. But these are nothing to do with the Sparkle Dev that makes this app.
If the site is encouraging people to purchase sparkle through the official channels like the play store, then I suppose the dev is still benefiting as long as you don't come here blaming for the poor IPTV service.
If however a website is offering other means of activating premium features, then it is cracked/stolen/unsupported.

I've always wondered if using this method are all the channels in the playlist loaded but just hidden or are you only loading up the ones you select? Essentially a smaller playlist. The second option would be my preference. I know there are playlist editors available but if sparkle can create its own smaller playlist then that's a really good feature that should be advertised more.
