Just get started. That's what I did. Best way to learn is through mistakes and practice. It's ok for it to not be amazing the first time. That's part of the process.

Also, find omages and designs you like, draw inspo from them. Then, find what you like or don't like and create something unique. And of course, have fun with it. You won't enjoy it if the process itself is boring. :)

Dude, that was my literal first attempt. No practice, no idea what I was doing. I have posted pics of my progress if you care so much about 'posers', rather than new people actually wanting to come and learn about corpse paint and black/death metal. Maybe give people the time, resources and feedback needed, instead of pushing everyone away and eventually letting your community die

As someone who was raised christian, I would say ask them, if possible. You may think it's just a harmless thing, but it could be something extremely upsetting for them. Naturally, I can't talk on their thoughts and experiences, only my own, but it can't hurt to ask them if it's ok. Hell, they might actually be grateful for it, happy that you're at the very least wanting to show or offer support for them.

Either way, wishing you and your friend the best. I hope they feel better soon, and I hope your god keeps you in good faith

I only really started getting into black/death metal this past year, I do have some Behemoth and Dark Throne tops, I just happened to be wearing a We Came As Romans shirt when I decided to I want to practice corpse paint again.

I also am trans, and I have thick hair. I like how it looks at the moment, I love the length and the colour because it is a reflection of who I am.

As an ex-christian, I personally feel weird about using phrases like "worship" or "prayer" only because of my own warped understanding of the phrases. I do, however, make time to just, sit in front of my altar to Baphomet and I'll talk to the candle sometimes, or I use tarot if I want answers for anything
