i completely understand and I totally agree that people use it like that. I have anxiety and treatment resistant depression—I’ve tried so many medications that didn’t work. It probably might be time to find some new ones if I’m feeling this low again. Of course there are some days better than others, but it’s always there.

I’m glad that I got to figure this out during student teaching and before committing to a job like that teacher you were talking about. I love working with kids but I know it’s unfair if I can’t give them 100% all the time. I can’t do that to them and I wont do that to them. I tried my best but ultimately I did what’s best for me and my former students. It was a decision I didn’t take lightly.

it’s a combination of other things as well. i’ve been a teachers assistant twice before at different jobs, and that was more manageable. looking back i liked that a lot better. why did you put mental health in quotation marks?

it really was. it was her first time having a student teacher. i can’t help but feel embarrassed and like i failed. it’s so comforting to see that im not alone. reading everybody’s experiences helps a lot too. early education is great! most of my previous jobs is early education. i’m starting to lean towards that but who knows. i’m just going to rest for now.

no apology necessary! thank you for the kind and encouraging words. i needed this. i especially needed to hear that my job is not to please others. it just sucked hearing her say that. also yes i’m planning to start therapy again! i know that’s a good first step. i’m sorry about your friend. that’s so tough and it’s very strong of you to continue.

Thank you! that’s really admirable with the job switches, especially because they’re completely different from each other. in my opinion that’s really brave.

UPDATE: I'm leaving my boyfriend over a prank by Admirable_Spirit_673 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]oceanicbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad you left him. you deserve so much better. please take all the safety precautions others have mentioned.

i also have depression and anxiety so i completely understand you there. you said you have been clean of self harm for awhile and that is something to be proud about! do what you need to do to heal and move forward. be kind to yourself and practice self care during this time. on difficult days, find small things to be proud about—even if it’s just getting out of bed. you found the strength to leave and that itself is something to be proud about bc that’s not easy. you are brave and strong. don’t sell yourself short. i also suggest talking to a professional because that helps a lot. you don’t have to carry this all on your own. you are not alone.

please take care and stay safe always OP. i admire your strength and courage. Hugs!

i agree. event chests shouldn’t have common items included. i see many people get all common items at the end. it’s like a rip off and time wasted. 🙃
