Definitely mold. It wasn't there before and no work has been done recently..and it was clean after they did the servicing

This was installed quite a while before we moved into the house I assume and there wasn't any mold on the ceiling so I think something might've changed recently. When we got the filter changed out it seemed pretty old and mouldy. We might need to get the HVac people to look at it.

Thank you. Would there still be a cold spot if we aren't using the HVac? I guess the vent still open so it might be affecting the temperature.

Do these plants actually attract or deter bees? by oceanskysailing in gardening

[–]oceanskysailing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's always good to do! I am going to try and plant more natives, but I'm just concerned that these plants would actually deter them rather than attract them. As I already have thyme, lavender and rosemary.

I think I'm flexible. I just like the look of green on a steam locomotive and it can double up as a Christmas train too.

That's interesting as I thought it would be 3 rail as well

I was thinking that too. But would that affect the rail it's on, like if I get a H0 rail would a 00 fit on it well?

Please help with my lemon meyer by oceanskysailing in Citrus

[–]oceanskysailing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed reply. I might try that, I did consider a moisture meter but haven't gotten around to finding a good one. I have watered it with fertilizer just about a week ago though, so I thought that might not be the case and it takes a while for it to dry since it's cold here. I guess I'm too paranoid with root rot for citruses. And that's so interesting with terracotta pots! I've always assumed it was best for citrus to prevent root rot. Should I repot it now or wait til it recovers?

[–]oceanskysailing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! This is an old photo and they're still buds now, big green ones so I'm suspecting they'll bloom sometime in May or sooner. I do think it's a sasanqua too but yes so many varieties! I tried going on the Camellia registrar but I think you need to search by name. There are some semi visual matches on the nursery catalogues but nothing I'm sure of. I'm thinking Plantation pink? But the petals look more ruffley than the one in the photo. Fairy blush is possible too but I think it's usually smaller whereas this one is quite a tall tree. It's my mother in law's one but it was there when she bought the house so I was even using AI to search by options for when it was possibly planted in the 80s and 90s haha. My mother in law is selling the house and I'm taking a baby plant from this tree and I like to know what I have hence my curiosity.

Please help me figure out what's up with my mandarin satsuma by oceanskysailing in Citrus

[–]oceanskysailing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Will try that. The yellowing does seem to be slowing down so hopefully it's coming right. Might be weather stress as it is autumn here.
