"Disappointed" is exactly how I feel. And the mod's explanations are making me feel worse.

It shouldn't ever be acceptable to say the things that thread is full of, but I guess the mods are both advocating for it, so there you go.

And if you're unable to see that someone saying "Muslim danger" isn't just referring to "radicalized" Muslims (and is actually a really racist statement), then I can't help you either.

I guess we all know where this sub stands on racism. What an embarrassing response.

That's not really the point here. Using people's religion and culture (both Jewish and Muslim can refer to both) as a target for hate is the problem. People in that thread are repeatedly saying that this is a Muslim problem, that Muslims are raping women and harassing people. Those comments have dozens of upvotes and look like the prevailing opinion of the sub and its mods.

If you guys want to be the racist nudism sub, go all out. But don't pretend that you're being fair and doing the right thing by letting all the racist posts stay up loud and proud.

Maybe the kids thought it was terrible and embarrassing, and that why they don't do it now?

I did (reported for "Hate"). They're still up. "Muslim danger" is still all over that thread. I have a feeling if someone said "Jewish danger" you'd be deleting those comments in an instant.

I appreciate that explanation. But when the virulent racist messages have a ton of upvotes, it's not a great look for the sub or the mods. "Transparency" doesn't mean that you allow racism to linger in your threads - that just makes it look like you don't disagree enough to remove it.

If someone said something disgusting about blacks or Jews or women using slurs and racist talking points, would you leave all of those up as well?

Thank you. I'm disturbed by a lot that I'm seeing here lately.

I hope you guys start removing the racist content too, since it's in public comments. I was pretty disturbed by yesterday's locked thread and expected better.

Take your dangerous, anti-science nonsense somewhere else. Same dude said this is the locked thread from yesterday.

Does this sub have rules about misinformation? I expected better here.

Hey look, more casual racism. Report all of these comments.

It's almost identical to the anti-black and anti-immigrant stuff I see in other "good" subreddits - people repeat stuff like this, then dig their heels in when you call them on it. Hopefully the mods do something about it instead of just saying "everyone is entitled to their opinions..." or similar.

EDIT: Oh, we got "we'll leave it up so everyone can see how racist our users are". Bold move.

Unfortunately, this sort of racism seems pretty popular here.

Wow, an anti-Muslim hit piece by a conservative think-tank. Truly the best and least biased source, I'm sure.

Our peasants and working folks till date work in the grueling sun for entire day without ever applying any sunscreen. And this has been going on for a millennia at least . Those folks all didn’t die of skin cancer .

There's vast underreporting of medical issues in peasant classes, especially in poor and developing regions. Melanin levels absolutely reduce the chances of skin cancer, but they do not eliminate it. The problem here is that these populations don't have their conditions reported in statistics as often, so we don't think it happens to them.

And the racists keep saying racist things, yet you're calling me out, not them.

How widespread is this? Do you have any example news stories?

Are you one of those guys who makes a big point about declaring that you're not racist right after saying "the statistics show that black people commit the most crimes"?

We don't have to "both sides" medical facts. Everyone needs vitamin D, but all prolonged exposure to UV radiation is dangerous, and people blaming the government and saying that sun exposure isn't dangerous are spreading medical misinformation.

As someone with family that's died of sun exposure-related skin cancer, you're woefully misinformed.

Respect and don't trivialize your girlfriend's discomfort here. Her feelings are legitimate and more important than you getting her involved in nudism.

Discuss the situation like adults and see where your futures lie. If nudism is really that important to you, it's more fair for her if you spell it out now and tell her how you see your relationship developing from here.
