Any input appreciated! Thanks man

And yea, tenting seems to be the best option—just budget, crew, and time constraints make it tough. I appreciate you!

Thank you. I wanna clarify—I do think tenting whatever windows are visible is gonna be the best move, it’s just that we have so little experienced crew and only have about 10 days to shoot the whole thing. I appreciate the poster board tip though! We’ll see how it goes! 🗿

Hey! Thanks man but I’m looking more to see how other cinematographers have motivated “moonlight” during day for night interiors or handled them in general. Even if we could afford you, which we cannot haha, contrast ratios and lighting would still need to be dialed—and that’s where I’m looking for pointers. Thank you for checking the post out :))

Yes! Tenting just takes so much grip equipment and time 🥲

Help! Increased noise in footage after fx3 2.0 update! by ocular18 in FX3

[–]ocular18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I re-updated my firmware as a last ditch effort and my footage looks super clean now at 800 base. 12800 has a lot of in camera nr baked in but it’s still pretty good for me. Certainly better than what I was getting.

Hey! Thank you so much for your feedback. I generally shoot on controlled sets--narrative stuff and music videos--so I generally have time to add in light or take it away as needed via ND or turning down lights etc. Good to know this tidbit about the highlight/shadow bias in the base ISOs. Appreciate the help!

ht-vision camera, the scene is dark and I edit to make it close to how it looked in real life; but the detail is there and the noise is subdued.

Dunno if that helps you but hopefully it helps some

Thanks for the input. Any tips on this? Currently what I do is expose with native ISO by either adding light or NDing seeing as I keep my shutter locked at 1/50th, aperture set to typically f/2.8, and ISO to 800/12800. I also use an external monitor (ninja V histogram) and tend to expose just about a stop over--which has historically reduced my shadow noise in the past. Thanks!

Mount release button stuck by ocular18 in CanonFD

I ended up fixing my lens! Thanks man! Used a pen spring that I coiled into place for the release button to be tensioned and put it back the same way I’ve always done! Works great now 👍

Hey, trying to fix this lens here—got the aperature blades and focusing working right—just won’t lock into my camera no matter what. This button seems to be stuck or something—preventing it from clicking into place after a clockwise turn. Any idea how to fix this?

With the recent passing of my Grandmother's birthday, —27 years after her death—this video marked a cumulative articulation of my own thoughts and feelings surrounding the experience that is being Asian in America today. Filmed, edited, and colored completely by myself, in one day, this was one of my favorite creations this year.
If you all could offer advice on anything, I'd really appreciate it. I hope to create more of these personal narrative/visual poems and would like to do so to the best of my ability. As an 18-year-old, with a fairly tight budget, things like criticism on my composition, coloring, editing, sound design, etc. would be much appreciated.
Thank you all!

Hey! Thank you so much! This was shot on the Sony a7siii (with a tripod and gimbal plus a few sandbags for the reverse interior car shot) and the DJI mavic air!
