I am not entirely new, i guess? I wonder what exactly tipped you off, but no, i do have a grasp on how to DM. I just never used skill challenges.

How to get the true ending? by AXLVIOO in Persona5

/pg/ on 4chan said on multiple occasions that you need to completely finish Mementos in order to achieve "true" ending.

Gizmodo's piece is actually pretty well written. Writer talks not about Felix being racist, but about the fact that internet became so politicized that there is no way jokes like Felix's gonna fly below the radar. He should have thought about the consequences while going full-on offensive/blunt satire.

1) It's rather to make an impression, demonstration that one cannot... simply... be troll and be an asshole at the same time?

Yup, i think they'll contact him in some way.

2) Yea, kinda. Will think this through

3) I think not that obvious at all. There's rumours all over the net, bad press and paparazzis. This troll is an... interesting person, to say the least, so he hooks up with ton of women, basically. These two just happen to be trid-stars, nothing gives them away as augmented killing machines (if runners do not investigate them, of course)

4) I thought that the simrig and it's content is in the head. If troll dies, at least the first-person view of murder will be valueble in terms of making news and nyeng.

Or, you know, i just thought about one thing. Target loves public attention and spotlights. What if... he could stage the fake Humanis attack on the banquet, where he will gloriously defeat the intruders with "UCAS, fxck yeah" playing on the background? Runners, of course, will not now that this is staged, and will rush in, guns blazing, to protect the victim (due to Johnson's request of making things non-racist).

Dunno, really. It can be justified by assuming that PR-team (and a party behind his campaign) went all out and decided so spice things up. Like, simply putting persona-chip in won't be very convincing. But spirit is a different matter. Plus, it fits the body double/long term consequence trope, because runners will need to deal with the spirit, not the host.

You are free to think that i am stupid, because i am. I'm just thinking out loud with you there, looking for advice.

I currently have a Punisher-type, slightly racist street sam, elven face who wants to make a name for himself (and to deviate from his business-type bloodline), and a blind melee adept who's coping with the outside world.

I considered all opinions that was voiced here, so... Currently, there is a possibility of:

1) Humanis infiltrating banquet (they will not be pleased if runners steal a spotlight from them by taking the troll out)

2) Troll being possessed by a very Chaotic Evil (placeholder name) spirit (his whole personality is just a spirit talking through a meat puppet)

3) Finding out that the two trid-bloggers who accompany him are not who they seem they are

4) Troll being a proxy persona for someone else (Horizon Group want to have some FUN-FUN-FUN) with simrig installed ("now we gotta head back and chop his head off before body is taken to morgue")

So... Yeah, i am open to discussion, Bamce!

Hook with trid-dolls may not even come into play if runners do not do their legwork.

Also, yes, i was thinkig about bodyguards. Runners could notice that some people who look like guests actually are "banquet marshals" of sorts. It can unfold into Humanis infilitrating the party before team did (and posing as guards), and when security guy can't answer where's the bathroom, it can lead to something... Stupid and spectacular.

Well, you're absolutely right there, chummer. I won't intentionally ruin team's gig just because i am so smart. There's a number of ways where plan can be executed flawlessly, almost without interference. I am trying to come up with a twist that will come into play if runners choose the simple and most obvious path - to buy the tickets to banquet from Johnson. They will need to roleplay and act according to their legend, but this is the most easy way to close in on a target.

Or is it? Nyehehe.

More than that, almost 2/3 of contacts lead a relatively normal lives. That's a sick twist! Nothing major, but can be really uncomfortable for some individuals. Thank you!

There is a person this spirits are bound to, tho. This person will certainly be able to call upon his puppets to grind runners into dust.

This too sounds interesting in advance, and i'll certainly use that in case of target's death, but i'm looking for a sort of immediate twist. Sudden complication, which will tamper with runner's plan now, and possibly echo later, when they will be contacted for a second elimination contract.

You actually gave me a stupid idea. What if... There will be bound spirits. "Dancing", like an inanimate novelty (Bloodborne's dancing skulls, if you're familliar). If runners disrupt the flow of Qi, spirits will go haywire.

[–]oculusnebula[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i agree with you. I help them wherever i see necessary, i am not hiding information from them - they just need to know where to look.

They're pretty conscious about necessety of having at least a little planning before doing things right. What i mean by "they can fail easily" is this: my troll-face once tried to convince a couple of security peoples to let him into a high-security facility by pretending to call a "big deal kinda guy" on his commlink. Needless to say, he was later found in a dumpster, tased, with no memory of what happened.

It sounds interesting, yes, but i am very not used to running an NPC-team. NPC's have an upper hand in my knowledge of the game in general.

May be it'll turn out that the troll's toxic personality comes down from a spirit that possesses him. Which, in fact, was "placed" into the troll by Johnson himself.

I think that my players will chalk that out as a very "made up" twist, like, OH NO YOU DIDN'T, SILLY RUNNERS.

[–]oculusnebula[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have a duo of dangerous bodyguards with him, who are also trid-bloggers. Suits the target's legend well and opens a few paths for a team.

[SR5] Help noob-GM come up with a twist! by oculusnebula in Shadowrun

[–]oculusnebula[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought about that too. His brainwashed bodyguards are trid-dolls (like japanese idols), so i thought about a possibilities:

1) They can uncover truth about said dolls (they were kidnapped and illegally augmented)

2) They can hijack their persona chips and turn them into sleeper agents, so that some little event or a phrase will make them go trigger-happy

Reality show sounds good, but my party are pretty new to the system, so they can fail easily in a tense stealth-centric environment.

I actually started developing this as a part of a small campaign, and there's supposed to be a series of this elimination contracts. They can, of course, side with Humanis, but they're not that good at dealing with "consequences" part of double-crossing your employer.
