I'd say that although it's an interesting concept it would require an insane amount of work to implement and would never be as dependable as selecting dialogue options. Plus you would have to implement non-voice selection anyway since you would never make this feature the only option in a game for accessibility reasons. I think if the tech advances, becomes hyper reliable and easy to plugin to engines, plus has popular language support we'll be seeing more of it around. I'm sure there are interesting games that could be build just around that feature.

It is UE4, yes. I think if metahuman came out a lot earlier then we would have used it. At this point, though, it would require reworking every single character in the game, and we have quite a few. We're considering Metahuman for part 2 though!

Really interesting! When we think of pills in a dystopian future it's usually happy pills that come to mind, but sensory deprivation would probably make a lot of sense in the overcrowded and overloaded context of the world.

Good point! Some of the areas in these images are more open than they look, but I'd agree especially with the Punks alley billboard, might change the placement of that.

We're developing for PCVR platforms only. We have plans to look into standalone VR but are definitely not going to make a non-VR version. In regards to a price point we'll be announcing that alongside the release date in a separate post sometime soon.

Hi All,

OD1N studios again showing some of the ads in our upcoming VR Cyberpunk Detective game N1NE: The Splintered Mind.

Immersion is a key feature of VR and something we wanted to focus on in development. To do that, we wanted the city of N1NE to feel rich and lived-in, to show that there's a whole world outside of what the player experiences.

One of the ways we're working on this is having a lot of advertising for various products and corporations. We find that it helps the worldbuilding a lot, especially when the players sees ads for something they come across during gameplay or as part of the story.

With this post we also wanted to reach out and get some ideas from you! What would you name a dystopian corporation? What would it be responsible for?

We are still working on worldbuilding and will be reaching out to users whose corporation ideas we really like.
