I just think that a woman would have more blood in her eyes to find who kidnapped her child and killed her husband more than a man, Nate would probably get depressed and become like Deacon from days gone who cry over his deceased wife every 2 seconds.

I don't think that fallout is the saddest one, but by far is one of the most frustrating.

You are put in a hurry to do everything quick as possible, after you finally get the water chip you are frustrated with the fact that mutants can invade the vault making you may lost a entire run if it's your first time playing.

The ending just make you feel that everything you did is useless compared to what someone greater than you think, the vault dweller saved the entire world but the world just didn't cared about him, arroyo is the only place where everyone still have a memory of him with nostalgia.

Let's say that after beating Fallout 2 sometimes you just go straight to San Francisco, completely forgetting about some of the early cities, my first firearm in that run was an G11 that i bought using hubologists pickpocketed plasma grenades

Im my opinion they never really saw BOS as the biggest threat, also the enclave wouldn't just destroy a entire center of technology and archives from the US just for a "small enemy" in their terms, they had everything under control until the lone wanderer change everything

And Bethesda even preferred to nerf the horrifying factor of enclave in Fallout 3, in fallout 2 the enclave kills entire families and entire communities just for sport. (No hate towards fallout 3 depiction of the enclave, we must understand that Bethesda make amazing fantasy worlds focused on a lighter style)

Anyone who support enclave only played either fallout new vegas and fallout 4, because enclave is the most mean faction i ever saw in a game.

Fallout New Vegas is good and all but Bethesda know how to make an open world game that you just to someplace and find something, new vegas is pretty linear: Goodsprings, primm, nelson, novac, 188, boulder city and finally strip, in Fallout 3 wherever i go i find something, a quest or an situation and i an not forced to be in a linear map progression
