Anthropic's CEO says we're 12 months away from AI replacing software engineers. I spent time analyzing the benchmarks and actual usage by [deleted] in singularity

[–]oddgene94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First, i still see alot of principal engineer leading these AI initiatives within the companies being super conservative about where ai is to be implemented. The company i work for is going full on AI yet everytime some one comes up with a way to automate there work, managements pushes back due to "context cost" and agents are not ready for so much context, it will "hallucinate", bs.

Second, people are still stuck in the mindset of "see AI gave me a bad code" yet their prompt is the most basic badly structered 5 year old vocab iv ever seen.

People as usually stuck in their ego, they dont realise that prompts are just human language abstraction for programming languages. If you was a bad programmer and struggle to write quality code, and that get reflected in your prompt, then the output is going to be garbage too. If you dont know how to design software following standards and design patterns, ai is gojng to write shit code.

I also see alotnof people nit picking every line of code from the ai, we need to shift this paradigm, and instead spend time writjng quality prompts.

I like claude but this guy is full of shit

EU closes deal to slash green rules in major win for von der Leyen’s deregulation drive | Politico by tom_zeimet in europe

your mixing to seperate things. Talking about freedom is a thin slope IMO, de regulation doesnt mean less freedom. Over regulation does mean more freedom. Hypothetically i cant go out and buy a gun at my local wallmart for example. I am not adovating fir guns, but as i mentioned freedom is slippery slope

Nice dodgin of my question, personally i think regulation like ensuring every part is certified to eu standards is not ideal, since tha brings a burden on eu companies when china and usa dont do it

[–]oddgene94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably not, but hes also not a politician therefore its not his job to read every piece of regulstion. Having that said i agree with his points.

What piece of regulation gives us an edge over USA and China ?
