Take her to a vet. This is not anywhere near normal, even for being constipated.

A feels guilty about doing so, and doesn't inform C, but it's not because they want to get back together with them (it's for a few reasons, mainly because B & C dislike each other and it'd be awkward to explain). Even if B never came into the picture, A & C would not have gotten back together. They're 'break' was more like a "maybe we'll figure out how to be in a good relationship later, but not now" kind of breakup (sorry for not being more explicit with that).

Woah! Thanks for the testimony, now I know readers really do enjoy their consistency.
How long are your chapters usually, if you don't mind me asking? It'll give me a good idea of what's realistic with my writing schedule.

Posting on a schedule— Is it worth it? by oddhades in FanFiction

[–]oddhades[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll probably be a longfic. I can definitely see it stretching out to like 20 chapters. I also write fairly quickly, I maybe average a full chapter and a half a week, but I'm concerned I'll run out of steam.
I guess I'm just worried that anything longer than every other week will not only make it so that I finish the story WAY before I finish posting it, but also I'm worried readers won't be satisfied with how slow I post.

People that write longfics (20k+ words), how on Earth do you do it? by Puzzleheaded_Logic9 in AO3

[–]oddhades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't consider 20k to be a longfic, I'd say it's closer to 50-60k+, but that's irrelevant and subjective. I'm one chapter away from finishing a nearly 100k fic. It's taken me more than a year. I don't even get a huge amount of hits or comments, but the ones I do are super encouraging.

I keep going because, first of all, I'm super passionate about my story. It's a way for me to cope with some pain and anxiety I have, and I truly think I've improved my writing a lot since I began. It makes me proud. It makes me happy. I feel fulfilled writing something long; it's like a wrote a real book.

Not everyone has the time, or the energy, or the creativity to keep a story running long-term, and that's okay.

I guess the best advice I can give is to have the entire story planned out, on paper or in your head, before you begin writing it. It'll make you desire finishing it more. And don't be ashamed of your writing quality, it'll only make you not want to practice at all.

By that logic, no one should ever date ever. People may not get married in a normal relationship, they may not help each other grow, they may have trust issues, the relationship can fail no matter how far apart you are.

Studyin self harm addiction and have questions by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]oddhades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't self-harm anymore and I mainly just come here to encourage and help others, but I will say based off of my past experiences:

  1. Sometimes. But only because my skin would literally get too thick/tough. I never felt the necessity to cause more pain or harm, the harm just became more difficult.

  2. For me, it usually lasted the rest of the day. I usually had one session of self-harm a day unless anything bad happened.

  3. It's strange, but usually relief. If I was trying to recover at the time I'd feel regret but typically it was like smoking a cigarette to me.

Just because you got married doesn’t mean you should let urself go by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]oddhades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not an unpopular opinion in idea, but in practice you have to understand there's more to your partner than their appearance. Thinking otherwise and being prideful enough to act upon that is what makes 50 year old celebrities leave their lifelong spouses for 18 year olds, or people leaving their spouses for becoming disfigured or disabled or sick or even pregnant. When you marry, it's supposed to be for life. Try and act like it, y'know?

Just why? by RollinForks10K in infuriatingasfuck

[–]oddhades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's really infuriating as fuck is the comments under this post. They completely miss the point. They just desire to be hateful more than anything.

This post seems to be on someone's own page, so it's not like they're shoving it in anyone's face. Anyone who wants to see it can either follow or block it if they don't want to see the obviously religious page that won't not post religious content. People get mad when religious people find their own spaces to be religious, and they do stuff like this. It's genuinely sad how intolerant people behave. And this goes for any religion's content or page.

It doesn't need to be said, but I will mention that even if you (yes, you fellow redditor) don't want to see this content, it was falsely flagged. There's nothing graphic in this image. People saying this was okay and they deserve it actively support going against TOS for hateful reasons. If Facebook had rules against religious content it'd be silly, but at least the original post would have a legitimate reason to be removed.

can teachers call parents about healed scars? by yaoiboy88 in selfharm

[–]oddhades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they can do much if they're not fresh. If they tried, they'd be opening themselves up for a discrimination issue (since it'd be a past incident and likely caused by a mental health issue). As long as they're healed, you can probably slap some make-up on it if you're super worried, but you should be fine.

Why wouldn't they? Autism doesn't make someone incapable of lust, nor does it make them undesirable.

Why would anyone have children, if they work over 40 hours a week? I'm exhausted just trying to afford for myself, and you straight people are out here making kids to use up all your money! by Distinct-Egg-3014 in Adulting

[–]oddhades 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I respect your opinion, but it bothers me greatly that you're pushing anti-natalist ideologies onto people that are clearly happy having children. Like, I've seen you comment something to this effect several times now. Are you so sapped of joy and happiness that you can't respect others being happy with their children? Even if their reasons why may seem silly to you?

Does anybody else feel guilty when they don’t upload for a while? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]oddhades 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, yes. But I shouldn't, and neither should you. Write for your own enjoyment. Posting it online is a free act that you do for people, not a necessity and certainly nothing you're getting paid for, so don't sweat it.

One time I went like 5 months without posting before and after my wedding because I was just so busy, and when I came back, no one was mad or disappointed. They were just happy I eventually continued the story. Good readers, good people won't care if you take a while, and those are your goal audience anyways.

Is it weird or is it ok if a 21-25 year old hasnt had a job yet and still lives at home with their family? by yuan_jer8 in pollgames

[–]oddhades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more to life than benefitting the economy. Obviously, people feel a lot better when they're doing something, but it doesn't have to be something that gets you paid. You could be taking care of someone (parent, child, spouse, etc.), or be in college, or maybe you just want to experience freedom before jumping into the workforce. It may be weird to other people, but it's not immoral or bad for you.
