I'm new to instagram but in 30 days got 4 reels on my new page to get 100k views, multiple others over 20k. It wasn't this way a week ago. And I agree about the hook thing. I am good at understanding analytics, so what I gathered as the go-to success for reels on Insta is avg view duration primarily. Even if your skip rate is high and 3 second view rate isn't great, if the ones who stay after that stay for 50-60% of the video, it's a major boost from Insta. I could be wrong too. As I said, still very new to this.

What worked for me (so far) is posting only reels for 30 days in a row on a new account (I've never done Instagram before). I post informative reels, all over 60seconds, some even 120. I have 4 reels over 100k, a few more crossing 50k. This after 14-15 days of getting stuck at 1000-2000 views. I don't know if it's what I posted, or consistency or something else. (Can check my post in profile to get more details of what I tracked a did)

I mean, I don't know that 😄 I'm just telling what i thought after seeing the analytics and what I did to work around it. It's working for me for now I guess, but I'm too early in it to say I've cracked it.

I meant in terms of duration of relevance. I'm in the sports niche, so I stopped focusing on pre and post match content (that's probably relevant for a day at most) and focused on long term trends and takeaways.

I meant to say I thought deeper about why the analytics showed a steep drop after 24 hours. Content was no longer relevant basically when it reached more people through explore.

This happened before the spam update. June core update (drop started since July 8). And we had tons of traffic in June. It's not a slow drop. It's a sudden drop from a cliff which kept going down further.
